Today we take a look at United Utilities, Mere Business Park, Lingley Green Ave, Great Sankey, Lingley WA5 3LP.

We enter the site via an open end but exit via the gatehouse where we stop to do some filming.

We are spoken to by security who are happy with the filming but not the drone.

Once he realised we knew better, his stance changed and he became a nice guy.

you can’t fly a drone the Drone no that’s what I me to do you can’t fly drones unfortunately to restricted zone for drones it’s not okay so welcome back to the channel guys today we’re here in Warrington taking a look at this place lingley Mir business park now this is the home to United utilities and United utilities recently has been at the center of a controversy regarding sewage pollution in Lake windir the company has faced allegations of misreporting the severity of sewage pollution which some claim has contributed to environmental damage in the area yes BBC Panorama investigation was looking into this now security are already on the case look already on the case somebody filming outside and we are outside look this is the boundary and the gate security control are inside and not outside for a reason so I’ve got a few signs Clear Water H water fair wind windir oh my God they’ve got a wind there building that’s has taken the mick but as you’ll notice there is a day nursery nearby so we will be careful so the initial security Buzz has disappeared I think they saw a camera and decided not to be famous today but it is a fantastic site look how nice it is around here I think officially their site might start at that sign just there but this path that leads up here look it’s clearly publicly accessible no restrictions hi are you okay yeah I’m okay yeah good good it’s okay I know you’re allowed the video and all that mate so no problem at all obviously you can’t come on to the premises but I’ve already been on yeah you just doing a story on United utilities no the lake windir um recent news article oh yeah yeah so I’m here just to get some footage and I’ve already been on um but I do need to uh get more footage with the uh the Drone you can’t fly a drone the Drone no that’s what I’m here to do you can’t fly drones unfortunately to restricted zone for for drones it’s not okay it’s not okay so I can ply the Drone yeah okay what you saying no no for you carry on I just wondered why you’re saying no no we we don’t prefer you to fly a drone don’t tell people there a restricted area when there’s not no no no I’m saying we’d like to restrict it so we wouldn’t like you to flly it but you want to fly it you fly it would like no pollution in the water absolutely but I get what you’re saying they’re allowed to do it we’re allowed to fly the Drone I get what you’re saying I’m even allowed to go on there this is um still a public Highway you know this is private property yeah still a public Highway as in oh there’s private property there’s no restriction there’s no barrier yeah any anybody can go on there there a private property there’s some signs up there saying that yes ownership doesn’t restrict the flow of traffic does it to private property yeah so I can go on there yeah it’s private property you’re not answering my question I’m just saying it’s private property yeah and I’m saying are you aware that this by law is a public Highway the road traffic act applies yeah regardless of who owns it yeah rules to public apply yeah which means I can go on there okay if there’s a barrier I can’t go on yeah so the gate goes across you would be able to go on the gate’s not open the gate’s not closed okay we just just close the gate if you want to close the gate I can’t get on yeah but we wouldn’t we don’t want to do what I’m saying to you is we don’t want to to do that I’ve already been on that’s fine I’ve done lots of photography on there but what I’m saying is when you come out and say you can’t fly cuz there’s a restriction and you can’t go sorry no I didn’t mean that you can’t what I’m saying we prefer you not to anyone we can see Google Earth can’t you yeah yeah so no no I’m not saying that at all if I if I said something wrong there I apologize no problem I’m not picking fault but do you know this gentleman here you know people walking on or driving on is not doing any checks is it it’s not checking that he they have ID cards in their vehicle been watching him it’s not looking and anyway even if they didn’t have the ID card they would still drive past and they would if they’ve got a delivery or they want to absolutely absolutely yeah so that’s what I mean if I’ve come here to do some photography to do a news story journalistic work then I can go on whatever reason obviously if I’m going on to graffiti or who’s your journalistic with for yourself or forend oh right got yeah yeah yeah yeah Ain no problems but what we we’re also promoting the fact that people are getting backlashed for doing drone work and photography work yeah you tried to say then that I know we moved we’ve moved on absolutely we’ moved on absolutely the videos that we create yeah are also about promoting the rights that people have oh God yeah one of the rights are even if somebody wanted to have a good look round and just oh wow these buildings are fantastic I remember when this used to be x y and Zed I’m going to say you remember when it was V wood well I’m not from around here yeah where you from from Lester but people come onto this estate for many reasons yeah and it’s not restricted oh yeah no if you do then we the public would like Lake windir to be clean absolutely and why have they chose leir for one of their building names that’s yeah they just name that’s an insult after Waters so we’ll we’ll name one of our buildings after the lake and then we’ll go and pollute it um I can’t comment on that obviously not this is their would you like while you stood there thank you I do like you is this their headquarters this is yes yeah would you like it while he stood there no no I’m very very fine sure you’re not cold enough I’m fine I’m fine hey no what is but yeah no and I wasn’t saying you can’t what I was saying is we prefer you not to yeah yeah yeah we’d prefer a lot of things well we’ve already we’ve already done that one could I establish um do you know officially is it nice sight in the shot so I’m going to stand past the sign there yeah I think if you look see where your green box is further by yeah I think they Park up there and that’s their garden section so whether that’s all you cuz I think they do a lot of charity work as well up there yeah so the site looks fantastic you’ve got a very nice place to work oh god without doubt yeah yeah yeah yeah and Warrington that is for sure take off home Point updated so United utility is your system gets overwhelmed and you have to discharge into somewhere and you choose Lake windir and then you misreport exactly how much sewage pollution is going in there according to the BBC Panorama investigation there were instances where pollution incidents were downgraded improperly meaning they weren’t counted in official statistics potentially leading to a misleading portrayal of the company’s environmental impact so you knew what people would say if they saw the true figures and you were doing your best to restrict that information getting out and the backlash I don’t know I bet there’s no sewage in your lake is there no you looking after your stuff well aren you look at all this outdoor seating looks absolutely fantastic loads of solar panels and look how many people work here look at all them cars parked in the car park this is a major major headquarters for United utilities isn’t it very close to some residential and we’ve also got a few other units on the sight which as you saw has a security guard standing there just as a deterent maybe he’s not doing any physical checks looking at any car permits or anything like that and they’ve got no chance of restricting anybody the flow of course the road traffic act applies even applies in a Tesco car park for example so if the road traffic act applies and you can have access then you can do any lawful activity whilst you’re on that land so the site is absolutely huge here’s some of the buildings that is also one of their buildings there United utilities what’s that grass M there we go and one last shot of the lake shall we see if we can see any fish we droned a lake before and people mentioned why didn’t you look for the fish so let’s just do that real quick I can still see the Drone no no fish in this Lake well there probably is but just not at the surface maybe we should drop some maggots from the Drone then I’m sure the fish will appear but there we go united utilities Warrington headquarters your whole site well not quite most of your sight in one shot match altitude reach too windy to do a 360° photo for
