all right so I’m in southern coastal town ofos this is kind of where I’m setting at my home base for the first 3 days for some of these gravel rides and um some of the top gravel rides on the western southern coast that makes sense but uh yeah finally got some sleep got some food so I’m not a complete zombie like I was when I tried doing this yesterday but absolutely beautiful tons of restaurants uh awesome beaches Sunrise was incredible this morning as I probably just edited into this video but all right time to get dressed and uh get on the [Music] [Music] road [Music] all right I’m about like 2 miles under this ride and I have to stop already cuz this is the start of the gravel path and you climb up this cliff and holy like I think this is going to be just the most incredible ride ever just judging by this be riding colus Coast on this gravel ride road on the cliffs pretty much the whole way about uh 20 miles that way got people surfing down here I mean it’s like 65° low humidity perfect weather uh in December for this ride and I got the baby all set to go so Stoke level already um already really [Music] [Applause] [Music] high [Music] [Music] wo all right so we got some hi bike here uh basically just dropped off a cliff so see where to level out but I knew there’s going to be some parts of this that you could not ride but I didn’t think it was going to show up this soon but uh on a gravel bike yeah that’s [Music] tough [Music] [Applause] all right so up there is where was just riding down along the top the coast there hi a bike down here and now don’t know the name of this town I probably should figure that out out but um yeah I’m going real slow cuz I keep stopping take a picture of everything it’s just that beautiful as always the camera doesn’t do it justice but nonetheless [Music] [Music] wow woo salty air got some chunky stuff here a little hiker bike first person hiker bike but it is what it is all right so two things can be true at the same time this can be so far probably the best route I’ve ever ridden in my life and it also can be incredibly annoying to have to do all these hike a bike sections uh which apparently I need two hands [Music] [Music] for [Music] well just had first little crash luckily it was a slow motion guy but here’s the problem with the root Builders it gives you mountain bike routs I was just on this beautiful Gravel Road keeps pulling me on this I mean there’s great perfect roads here but straa keeps kicking me off onto this so you really got to plan them [Music] out [Music] [Music] I don’t even know what to say all right one thing um being out here you really don’t see any people any cars anything so you want everything to be self-sufficient on the bike which is why I got the frame pack all that on there I’ve already gotten a flat the tubist didn’t seal use my one tube so I screwed up a little bit I should have had another tube and I also had a tube plug set didn’t use that so um it’s dicey out here I’m taking some Chances with it trying to release SE building so that if if I get you know another mechanical it’s not a huge deal I’m losing daylight but still amazing look at this [Music] road [Music] welcome [Music] party [Music] [Applause] [Music] kind of a chill Gravel Road here so I figur I’d talk to the camera for a minute but the incredible thing about these places is I’m essentially nowhere this is just dirt road midle of the woods ocean clips and that it’s not a destination on the map but this is truly I think my favorite things to see in the country here all the lines that connect those dots that are the points of interest and the best way to do that is on this thing um you know sights sounds smells everything and you’re moving a little slower so you actually get to take all that in and really experience it fully appreciate it I think and I think that’s what makes just touring across a new place on the bike unbeatable uh so I think I said in my myca video but another Public Service Announcement go buy a bike it is worth [Music] [Music] it [Music] [Music] woo
