C’s lead out get it right for Mark kavenish in the tour to Hungary and Dylan Hoven with a dodgy move against Sam wellsford this is stage two apologies of the Sprint yesterday wellsford won pretty comfortably told everyone calm down should have put me in the jro squad he didn’t say the second bit I said that and today we got a second Sprint wellsford in the golden yellow leaders jersey Cavendish here as well with his full tour to France lead out train Breakaway though the fonders B Wilder team in there as well as Pierre baget cycling with Martin volter Christian Bagon was the final man in the break uh but actually volter he took Enough bonies by the through intermediate Sprints across the two days to go into the leaders jersey uh at the end of today so he I mean good exposure for them he also has Peter San on his team and here you can see him looking back thinking I’ve got that wrapped up 230 behind so no actual chance of the Breakaway to really win the stage today but uh Pier bagette got what they wanted out of as Slovakian team though anyway jako were pacing for Dylan hovan Bor got wellsford they got zof here and Bookman got a lot of riders here like w pools Bookman wellsford who thought they were going to be in Florence today but they’re in hungry was not that far away but um we’ll see what their form is like if they kept training they motivated and here are the the main Sprint teams on the left Tre for Matias vek inos for El viviani Jakob alula for D and he she being kept safe he’s for GC really 6.4k to go for UA members aanav very obviously for Mark cavage rovic I think he might have been their preferred man today byin he crashes nearly takes out Bookman I don’t know if he hit the gravel and was breaking on the gravel or overbreak or what happened he was on the right hand side further at the Pelton earlier and then we don’t exactly see how he crashed but he’s pretty badly banged up and there’s no real change of the order it looks like camworth on the right hand side uh but the aana train is merku Last Man case ball second last man who’s won like a Paran Sprint yes a few years ago but he’s a big engine and gleb Cita as the third last man who is a pretty good Sprinter himself like he can win some Sprints and he he could be a good last man on some teams he’s the third last man so the question is they got the experience with merku they got Cav in what I think is pretty good shape it’s a decent trainer St have put together I think did they sign Z league as well but he’s not I don’t think he’s good enough to be part of the three-man train it looks like for the tour it will be Serita bow and merku is my guess but with bwin being behind I think he’s their GC guy him voff for borans grower they’re at the back so there’s not really a big train for wellsford there’s no van Popp or Mullen here they kept them in the jro Ro team uh anyway but Road Furniture starting wellsford found the DSM train he’s in between laying and his train you see the estan I think it’s merku calling over uh to Cav that they’re going to go left and there’s some Road Furniture coming up just ahead they hit it really hard of St with probably four of their riders in the front 10 positions wellsford actually makes up good ground as well and sitaa really strings it out now through that road furniture and then it’s Lotto destiny you see on the left hand side I think it might be Yan Vanda who’s had really good results this season for them he’s looking over and thinking I’m too early 1200 me to go I’m going to find myself another train or just come off the front a little bit you don’t want to be second wheel with a K to go Gran thinking the same thing so he lets his lead out go to the front Campbell Stewart crashed heavily yesterday after looking around during the lead out but there aana case ball comes through wellsford is on the wheel of Cavendish gron of Egan picked the wrong wheel to follow he followed the right hand side of the of yanov undera and his train and his only lead man on the right hand side but that slows down and then he double checks and he’s like actually he doesn’t even immediately try and swing onto Cavs wheel when he thinks there’s a gap he lets wellsford get his uh handlebars ahead of him it’s like he’s seeding the wheel wellsford was on Cav’s wheel and then Gran’s like just shoves him all the way back into the barriers which are right there and wellsford lucking not to go into the barriers Gran pushes him there and wellsford breaks his wheel I think hitting a foot of the barriers so Gran not disqualified just 10 seconds penalty but not exactly a nice move it was wellsford wheel and I guess it could have ended much worse bow doing a really really good job though through a left hand Bend opens up though he leaves the space to his right hand side but merku goes to his left and with merku going to his left mosti is already beginning to launch as merku is launching and so Cavendish sees I think here mosetti coming and he jumps earlier than probably he wanted when merku is still going at a good speed because he’s worried about mosetti boxing him in or going up the inside and the problem is that Cav’s lead out’s now in the middle ideally Merk’s lead out would have been on one of the two barriers Cav jumps takes that space from mosetti gronen coming around the outside slight uphill drag 13 15 second Sprint from Cav and he’s too quick beat still K good lead out from estana mosti Brave jumping early I I think Cav win’s actually quite a bit easier if if mosti doesn’t jump cuz merku had another 25 40 meters in him no problem there’s viviani for any El not really close Cameron Scott freelancing trying to do his own thing with uh rovic out of the race but you see like AO did a really good job with serich through that road Furniture ball through there the problem was he didn’t leave enough space to merku to the Barry on the right hand side but you want to go left cuz I think it’s a I don’t know if it’s a slight left hand Bend I mean looks pretty straight so B probably should have left space to his right but in the end despite being in the wind earlier cavage is faster than grov Gran wasn’t coming up quicker he didn’t if he had another 30 MERS it wouldn’t have changed the outcome will Cav win another tour to France stage it’s good that he got some runs on the board for a St already kind of reminds me of when he won a tour of turkey before his Resurgence the other year wellsford probably disappointed or definitely disappointed after that Sprint cavish WIS ah h of grov then Abri vek mosti viviani Cameron Scott penala Hodge and lay pinch here’s what C to say after the stage yesterday we didn’t quite hit the lead out properly like it was super good everyone committed 100% Yesterday we just a bit eager a bit too soon and so we talked and talked about that to rectify it today it was a completely different finish today obviously not big Boulevard some Corners to make it Technical and uh we executed exactly how we wanted to do I’m so happy we had Guinea git looking after us the whole day so we didn’t take any wind he did the same yesterday pulled then uh yeah Micky got solely on the climb K on the climb glb toita big glb keeping us completely sheltered I had it so easy into the last kilometers and then uh case and Mori were into the last kilometer use other teams and use the speed we have to get as close as we can as a line because it was slightly uphill quite a bit uphill actually without speed he wanted to get close close it was always going to be a short of sprinting down normal and we nailed it exactly what we wanted to do I’m so happy with that coming here after a good training block with a team with a group that you know predom fewu go tour the France um that’s very good very happy in terms of GC volter is 5 Seconds ahead of Cavendish who’s 4 seconds ahead of gr of but these guys they won’t be there after tomorrow tomorrow’s the first actually marku will I lie marku will be cooking after tomorrow tomorrow’s the first GC stage of the Kos not the hardest climb but long 12K is 5% last 3ks are quite hard and that’s where GC will there’ll be a big impact on that there

    1. Interesting analysis… thx.
My claim to fame? Greg Lemond rode his bike past my home during a training race outside Boston (after his accidents)
the year he beat Fignon by 7 seconds. : )

    2. Good to see Cav looking good in the run up to the tour. Nothing is guaranteed but the most exciting version of the tour this year is one where he's in the mix in all the sprints and has a real chance to get the record. Also appreciate the way he talked about the effort of all his teammates today. Class, there.

Groenewegen on the other hand, SHOULD be disqualified for that. I don't know if cycling gives more severe punishments to repeat offenders, but it probably should, and I understand that "rubbing is racing" to an extent, and that the lead into a sprint can really be chaos, but I don't think there should be any tolerance for running a guy into the barriers. It's one thing to deviate a bit, one can argue that's accidental, but this is WAY worse. Especially from a man who almost killed someone doing this only a few years ago.

    3. Wear the wrong colour of bib in the Giro? Banned. Repeatedly put other sprinters in danger? "Please don't do it again. Here, 10s for you! That will make you think twice!"

    4. Seeing this, im afraid what will happen in the sprints at TdF if Groenewegen is part of it. As alot mention, why is he allowed to race? Does it take another near fatal crash caused by him to get him kickked out? He is a disgrace.

    5. Here’s a hot take: Ineos should have signed Cav on a 1yr deal (he prob comes for free) and gone all out for Cav for a sprint win. G leading him out again, full train. Rowe road captain. They won’t even podium the tour on GC. British team with a chance to make history with Cav, was an opportunity missed.

    6. Throw Groenewegen the fuck out of there. Also nice bit of publicity for the teams sponsor when he achieves his legacy of having a body to his name.

    7. UCI worrying about POG pants but a well known psycho is still allowed to ride… Gr. should have been banned long ago. They don't even DQ him if he does ot again.. Insane such a joke

    8. Damn that could have ended extremly bad for welsford, thankfully he has a lot of track sprinting experience. Very bad and dangerous behaviour from groenewegen

    9. Als nederlander moet ik even kwijt dat Groenewegen echt een debiel is. Na de actie met Fabio gaf ik hem het voordeel van de twijfel, maar hij flikt het nu gewoon weer. Levensgevaarlijke idioot is het
