hello welcome to short highlights of the tour of Hungary stage one Peter San back in Road action since retiring from the road last year continuing his buildup to trying to qualify to the Paris Olympics this stage 166 km in length and only 187 M of elevation pan flat if ever there was one Mark Cavendish also here continuing his buildup to the tour to France project 35 of course on the first day the battle to get into the Breakaway moderate but effective from the off four Riders going clear and immediately starting to build up a big lead on the long flat run in towards the 19 km finishing circuit that will be taken on three times Victor futas of the Hungarian national team was there along with Martin volter of Pier bagette cycling team that’s the team of Peter Zan this year uh balas Rosia of the epex Hungary cycling team and bisara of the yatel yusari it was pretty smooth and easy roll out for the Pelon who were well chilling should we say and these guys were absolutely ripping initially riding into a little bit of a headwind and the chasing being taken over really by Ja alula and the team of Mark cendes aana Kazakhstan with some fantastic shots of the Cavalry making their way past and it came to our first Sprint the first time through the finishing circuit and and it was the Hungarian national team Rider Victor futas taking the first bonus seconds as well on the line there trouble is three of them were left behind by one Rider who would plow on by himself riding for the Pierre baget cycling team Martin volter the check rider was flying and with a Lap to go he’d taken the last bonus seconds as well eventually he’d be caught and we started to think about that big sprint finish the tantalizing Prospect of Mark Cavendish going going up against pet Sean something we’ve seen so many times before of course but they will the only one with options today Dylan kran is here with his uh Team of Ja alula looking to get him into fine position too and other teams were likewise the road running into the finish in huro boso was wide and very straight now at times that can make it safer today though it just seemed to mean more teams and more Riders were involved they were nervous moments big gaps between the Riders but lots of swirling going on in the run to hoslo for the finish and the anticipation of that first yellow Jersey too asan of Kazakhstan continued to try and control things case ball with the last of the lead out Michel muu down the middle trying to get Mark Cavendish into the perfect position but mku swung out leaving Cav to start his Sprint early he went hard down the middle gunan was being being taken into Prime position on the other side but freestyling by himself in the middle by this stage already Sam wellsford and just behind him a really nasty crash happening Sam wellsford head onto the line but behind him absolute Carnage the Sprint split two sides of the road and there again that illustration of maybe too much width giving rise to problems a nasty crash in the finale yakob Moresco coming up fast in the yellow sleeves of corch but the Australian Sam wellsford getting a fine win and getting his season back on track after that brilliant start down under second place being taken by a youngster Samuel quaranta son of the great Ian quaranta those of you who know your 9s cycling will remember him of course Bor hrow delighted Sam wellsford of course [Music] delighted and that would mean that Sam wellsford would also take over at the race lead wellsford from quaranta Marko Nicholas pedison of tdt uni bet a fine fourth place to the yellow Jersey on the shoulders of Sam welsford after stage [Music] one and he had a 3C lead over that last surviving Rider from the Breakaway Martin wter of the Pierre bag out cing team what a fantastic start for them join us tomorrow me chz Cox and Brian Smith [Music] [Music]
