The old start gate is over there. So you see, it was all about getting there and going there, so it was fast. Here we are. We can’t say that the weather isn’t great in Scotland. We’re now a the qualies inside and semi finals Big change this year. In fact, this is the biggest change. There’ll be training as usual in the morning, this is not going to change. But they will do on the same day the classic qualies and then the semi-final. So last men will be around 15-30, 16-30, so it’s going to take a while. As usual we’re going to analyze the first part of the track to see exactly what has changed, like the key points. And then we will come back here and try to comment, to tell you a bit more about what happened in this semi-final, since this semi-final is no longer televised. Only tomorrow’s final will be. So we’re going to try to put everything in one video but I’ll leave that to Yohann in the back, you don’t see him, but he does a great work…sometimes, when he’s not hungry. The fog is rising and they’re predicting rain. Actually, the fog isn’t a bad thing, because the air is less dry and at the end of the day, during trainings it’s simply too dry. So that’s good, it’s a bit of wet but the fog is rising and the rain’s coming, so we’re going to have humidity, so no worries ! Myriam. That’s young people. The Alran brothers, our two french juniors, Max and Till. Max rode well. Till had a little trouble. He was a bit allergic, I think. And earlier, I was talking about of Frida Ronning and especially the young junior in the Union Team, Elie (Hulsebosch), watch her. They made nice lines ! All those juniors I just mentioned, except for Frida, who’s not a junior, but frankly, it was like the Elite, it’s amazing. On the other hand, to come back to the fog, I was wondering earlier in the gondolas, whether it bothered or not. Honestly, I think it’s now an issue, because when you get here, you see, things are a little better now, but earlier we couldn’t see the end of the bridge. And it’s going to go really fast. Nina, exhausted already. The locals don’t need to see, they’re used to it. Did you see over there when they came out of the bridge ? You can’t see a thing ! Loïc used to say: You’d better know yourself, know exactly where you’re going and at what time. Because here, look, here you are, they’ll come racing at 50km/h and look ! After that, they are not racing yet. But this is super hard. Frankly, it’s a Roman road. It’s a series of rocks. There’s no solution. You just have to go for it. There’s no line to try, it’s trying to sheath, maybe just, not get caught forward. Look at the openers, the openers knows how to do it ! It makes such an impact when they hit the rocks, you feel the ground vibrate. So I guess if I’m right there and I can feel it, them in their hands, they really have to feel it. Dude, that’s mega dangerous. You’re coming from there, it’s a kind of… That’s what they call flipper, and then it makes you shake left, right, left, right. And the part I find the most impressive isn’t here. It’s really these sequences of two steps. And then, you pull flat and blind into a corner. You can’t see anything. You go down two flights of stairs at once. We had two, three there : Lucas Lagneau, Raph Pelletier. They went by at 5000km/h and crashed at the bottom. Here ! It’s fine the way he did it, but there are some who go overboard. Here, again, it must be impressive to see. You looks like a rock. Thibaut Ruffin. On the live shows, he looks small, but in real life, he’s tall. Here I was talking about the pinball with these two steps. What are you looking at here ? Because for me, apart from the fact that it scares me, there’s not much that… I’ve been in the same mindset as you since yesterday. I’m scared because it’s going too fast everywhere. No, I’m just looking at a global check from where the holes starting. As it’s… super dry and the guys are all going really fast, Where they brake, there’s usually a lot of movement. And it was beautiful and smooth during track walk now it’s far from it. But that’s the impacts, it really feels like this year, on the edge, the impacts are 10%, 20% higher. I think the speed is also maybe 10, 20% higher. So all that, it is violent. Damn… With your back who hurts, you don’t feel like going for a run. No, you know, at my age… No, like it’s gone one more step. Last year it was really fast, that’s for sure, but yesterday, I hallucinated. What I used to say to racers yesterday, I saw Loïc and everyone a little out of breath, just because it takes less time in terms of timing doesn’t mean it’s going to be any easier. In real life, it’s 15, 20 seconds faster. than last year, but as a result, it’s a lot more intense, and we’re going flat out. Yes, that’s it. Then I think that concentration, as you’re going faster, will be even more… It’s going to take a lot more and… Yeah, no, I don’t think it’s going to be easy. Inevitably, with more speed, it may be less easy to create gaps. Woods part makes it easier. One of the racers was like this on a step… With the woods a bit "easier" and the bottom much better. Straighter, a little less pedaling and all that. It’s going to be hard. It’s going to be hard, as you say. We’re going to keep going on, plus, there’s less fog. Good, the fog is starting to go ! This is a good thing. Mylan, there’s this big step. And then, here, it’s really complicated. It taps. It taps everywhere ! Some people scratched in the grass, but it’s making holes. There’s a bit of river… I don’t know whether to stay in the middle or go left. Take a look at what they’re doing. The problem is that the entrance you chosen here, has a major influence on your exit. You can’t…Marine, you can’t go where you want. In fact, you’re braking and it’s banging so much that you can’t change lines. Your bike works, it’s so compressed that you can’t ride and hanging around and say: "I’m going in there, that’s nicer. Then I go outside." Once you’ve got the hang of it, with speed, you have to pull a straight line. How are you? Good, yes. I have two things. First is that I, I would have stopped a long time ago, I would have taken a break. Why are you taking a break right now ? You’re tired or because it’s a mess ? I took a break because I’m waiting for the qualies to do a full run. I’m not able to do one before. Now, as I was saying, it’s hot. These parts, once you’re in the line you can’t change your trajectory. In fact, you come in, it slows down and it’s really big parts. You can’t slalom a little like… Yeah It’s super hard. And the rocks are holding you back. So you have to get into the right line, try to dodge a bit, but it’s super hard. Already, to get into the right line, it changes between each track. No, frankly, it’s really hard to ride, it’s crazy. Listen, we’ll watch you do it, because you still do a hell of a lot better than we do. Yeah, after that, I don’t know. I can’t assure you of anything. Chris Ozer with a dislocated finger… Which is? He hit a tree yesterday. He lost his hand on a corner. In any case, it’s all over the place. He was lucky, he hit a tree, like really hard. It made his finger twitch. I think that’s the one it turned around. And now he’s rolling. They went to the hospital and set him straight. They taped the two of them together and said: "Come on, you’re racing" ! Those guys are crazy. Well, guys and gals, all of them. Frankly, you have to be really mad to get started on this. You see these rocks, this kind of gravel. That’s why they say that it’s harder to ride in the dry, it’s this gravel, in fact, which gets on these rocks and makes the wheels slide. But when it’s wet or humid it rains, it runs off, so it cleans the stones. And that’s really a typical thing, where you say to yourself: "In the wet, I don’t want to ride this". But in real life, it’s "safer" in the wet than in the dry. Nice! He flew over the ridge. Dude, you don’t do that twice. That’s really what we were saying, Thib or Mylann, who was talking about it earlier. He says: "When we talk about smashing, it’s not just the side of the stones that we’re smashing. and these sequences", in fact, there are the little steps initially and in fact, it dug between the steps. They tried to go everywhere, like there’s this rock right there, so they tried to move out of the way, creating a hole. So in the final, either you take an impact which is really a dome like this, or you really take a hole and it’s a sequence, it’s in the braking and it’s the repetition. In other words, all the way up to the woods, it’s all this, all this, all this, all this. And it taps, and it taps, and you let go, you pick up speed and in the braking points, you get cut. But even inside, it’s made holes there, you can see it. It’s everywhere. There’s no resting place. The bike is like that all the time. Even well-tuned bikes. We’re still group B and juniors and women. So it can go a little slower than the Elites, than the Group A Elites, but even the Group A Elites, the bikes, they get… The bikes, the mechanics, I’m not sure they really appreciate Fort William. I watched the best of and I saw that in 2022, we were much more present than in 2023. This was your 2023 transition period? That was it. So I said to myself, my goal for 2024 is to be in the best off. Making the best of the best of. And you still have goals on the track, like trying not to hit every stone there is, right? No, what I prefer… What I prefer is to hit the rocks, because in the end, when you pass next to the rocks, it’s too smooth, it’s not… There’s big holes next to it. And rocks are hard. It sends you, it brings you haste and moments of doubt. Me, I love living in doubt. I don’t like to know. Does he saw the haircut ? Man, yesterday I was dead. Those dogs they said: "Yeah, Morgane, she missed it she didn’t charge me" I said: "Damn, that’s crazy for a hairdresser." And then I was: "she must have hallucinated." Because I see the character. She must have hallucinated when Matteo asked her. So it was Frix. I had a good laugh yesterday. Frankly, they’re good. Those dogs are good. Come on, let’s go. So we’ll film them and then talk about the track later. Do you want to talk about the track? No, I don’t. I’m fine with that, frankly. Because if we’re going to be there, we might as well talk about… You get some rest. We agree that we’ve done a third of the track. and you’re even more rinsed than usual. Yeah, really. When I arrived, track walk, first day. Last year, they had redone the whole track and it was really clean. I said to myself: "Damn, this is going to be a change from the usual program." And in the end, it all came together. There’s a lot of work between the holes, between the pebbles, digging and so on. And with the semi-final and qualies in the same day, are you doing less runs than usual today? No, I’m going to do two runs as usual, because in itself, there’s no need to change. It’s like a qualification, except you get an extra run. In itself, I think it’s the qualification, afterwards, that helping you setting up for semi. You didn’t took it as a change? No. Personally, I prefer this way, because I like these one-day races with everything. And I always feel better on a second run. So, in the semifinal, I was always better in the final. So this is going to be good. Start crescendo, qualify, 60 and then put it all away for tomorrow. Did he tell you he’d started drinking again or not? Yeah, right now, I’ve… I’ll try to make a small one. I’m going to try to make a passage. When Loris’s bike makes noises like that, it’s really hot. Your passage in the best of, it hurt. We talked about it, we said: "It’s hot". Plus I’ve made a reel, some people imitating me. That’s the worst of it. "Kimi, hi…" So I was explaining to Kimi who hadn’t realized there was dirt here. I asked him why he was crossing by the rocks to hurt himself when there’s dirt there. I like difficulty. It forges me. You see, you have the knife between your teeth. You really didn’t see it? No, but that’s not that bad here. Don’t you want to try afterwards? There’s a red flag there for the moment, so we’ll have to wait and see. But don’t you want to try? We get in there and you’re careful with the… Ok. Do you want to go here or do you want to go right? To the right. There’s only one track on the right. The lines seems to be here. No, but you take it and pull. From here, you pull here and go like this. Yeah, I guess so. Let’s go. Take this. I’ll go up with your bike. And welcome to FullAttack. Today, we’re interviewing Flo Letondeur. Junior 2, right? That’s right, I brought my bike. So there you have it, I’ve given him a line, he’s going to try it. The pressure is not great, but it’ll do. Where’s your helmet? I don’t need one. It’s mandatory. Dude, in 2003, they were with caps on the back. Yeah, with combis. On the other hand, if you can tell the guy up front, Hugo Marini, that I’m going to… No, that’s Kobe Bryan out front. Yes, it’s smooth and all. Dude, there’s one impact there, you take 67. It’s just that with speed, you have to be able to aim your thing. But then, you’re pretty good at that, aren’t you? Huh? That was the red flag. We saw Lucas Cruz, from Norco, who didn’t look very good. They restart training as normal with Kolb passing through. We’ve now reached split time. So it’s really the end of the top section. This is where the woods part begins. I don’t think there will be much time gap until then. There’s bound to be some, but now we’re getting tired. The forest is even more broken up than the rocky part above. So there it is, from there, I think it’s really going to make the gaps. Those who are strong and physically able to hold on what they’ve taken up there. And then, we’ll have to be able to put some back in here. A must-see! And by the way, we didn’t see much trackside. You know, those trackside people, these people who are on the edge to analyze the trajectories. Up there, we didn’t see many people. We saw Steve Peat quickly. There, you see, they’re all in the back looking at the stopwatch. You can also see that there are cells here. This was not put in by the organization. It’s the teams that put cells on given points. And like that, who have ideas of what can go faster or slower. So that’s pretty interesting. It allows them to time their racers and also discreetly to see what others are doing. Yeah, well, here, quickly, you see, I’m bouncing off what I say. Over there, Flo Payet for Scott, Lucas’ father, Lagneau, Ken Pirelli. In the tree over there, for Dorval with Samos. They’re all there. I saw Nics too for Specialized down there, everyone’s here because it’s a big point. It’s a place where there are really several lines. This entrance has a high entrance and a low entrance. I saw Dakota who made the best time training earlier, who tried a line there, here, that nobody tried. So to be seen. You see, everyone’s trying. If there are any gaps to be filled, this is the place. Clearly, it’s here. I don’t have any time, sorry. This is where the gaps are going to be, do you think or not? Everywhere, but clearly here, it’s easy to make mistakes, and this is the most technical part. So it’s a very important part. That’s why all the guys and teams are here. We’ll let you get back to work. Thank you for your time. You get back on the bike. Are you OK? Yeah, fine. A little cold, but fine. Am I bothering you during your videos? Yeah, spying as usual. I heard you talking earlier with other coaches on something interesting, on measuring, on giving the racer the risk he is taking to take a faster line, but that could cost him time. You, as a coach, because now you’re on the coach’s side. What’s strategy? We say to the racer : "Listen, don’t do this because you’re taking too much risk or do it if you feeling it." How does that work for you? If the racer has 100% success in his line, it doesn’t matter if it’s committed or not, we let him follow his feelings. But it’s true that we’re trying to tell ourselves that we need a line quite simple to achieve and where the racer is at ease. And we take a look at what’s going on, we advise, but it’s still him who stays on the bike in the end. So you’d bring it more, from what I hear you talking about, you’d bring him more on a line that is safer than trying something where he can loose two seconds or the entire race. It’s true that as we enter in the woods, we’re already well on our way. I mean, they’ll all be a little bit physically exhausted and tired, so it’s easy to make a mistake. So of course, the sketchy lines are faster, but the sketchy lines will often lead to mistakes. So why not go for a safer, more comfortable line? Where you’re sure you won’t make a mistake and to have an average speed on all the woods where you go out all the time the same. And then, even if the guy commits and make a mistake, you can still be in top position. So it’s profitable. And now that you’re on the edge, to see so much on the edge, spend so much time on the edge, you say to yourself: "If I’d seen that when I was an athlete, there are things I would have done a little differently" Yeah, totally. Totally. I like to sending it, big pulls, sketchy stuff, and things with a bit of commitment, so sometimes it’s not necessarily profitable, you know. But then, when you’re all alone without anyone and follow your feelings and the way you like to ride, sometimes, it’s true, you have to get away from it a bit to secure a place and be more efficient on the whole run. Frix training, Frix performance. Did you start your best off 2024? No, I’m here to see what you think of this passage. They say that it’s the key spot for time gaps. Is it true that this is where the gaps will be? I don’t know. Often, the passages who are supposed to create gaps don’t create gaps in fact. No, that’s where the most lines are, I’d say, but after that, I don’t know. In the end, up there, you’ve got lots of straight lines, lots of rocks that stop you, all the shitty stuff. I think that’s it, it’s long parts where you quickly lose your rhythm and a lot of your time. But here…everyone is staring.. In the end, it’s the same. We were comparing a bit, there’s not a huge difference. I think you can loose more at the top in the crappy corners than here. You mean it’s almost better to make fewer mistakes and be clean ? Yeah, right. Because up there, you hit a rock, you take 10 meters from the one in front of you. Yeah, that’s it. I think that… It’s easy to hit a rock, and then it stops you you’re in a bad rhythm, and it’s not long before you’re doing mistakes one after the other, and then you loose so much speed. Rather than there, in the end. There are more lines, that’s for sure, but it’s less… Yeah, it’s all about justifying the work of those on the edge. Exactly. We justify our salary. Mine isn’t too justified. For those who didn’t know, Hugo who had ACL, nice thing. We see you again… . Aren’t we going to see you on the bike again? What’s the deadline? August ? I’ll try to ride at the end of June and do the last two WorldCups,. Loudenvielle. Rendez-vous in Loudenvielle to see Frixtalon. At home ! There’s a big red flag. So it’s going to be hard. There are plenty of racers up there. They’ll be a bit late for the start. They’re going to take them down anyway. Right now, we’re kind of on hold, aren’t we? We don’t really know what’s going on. They’re going to make them leave. We were talking about it two seconds ago. I think they’re going to clear the track quickly. Getting everyone off without depriving them of an extra run. Nevertheless, I think we’re going to be late on the women’s start because we’re in 40 minutes away, so it won’t leave on time. We were just brainstorming with the team. Here, when I see the brainstorm start list. This is a tough brainstorm. You didn’t go with the best ! We adapt to the terrain. We were talking about how it could create some time gaps. Does this place, psychologically, when you know you’ve done a little… You missed a bit, you missed the hole, you missed… It’s a very slow part. As soon as you miss something, you come out of the woods a bit psychologically affected, perhaps. You’ve got the right word. It’s true that it’s a bit of a psy game because there’s plenty of pace, especially at the top of the track. Sector 1, hyper-dynamic and smooth. You enter sector 2, it hits. You’re really going at high speeds and all of a sudden, you’re stalling. You find yourself in the dirt, roots, technical, trialising, if you like. After that, you’re back to a part that’s really important. So it’s in your best interest to stay in it. And indeed, there’s time to lose, but not necessarily much to gain. So you have to know when to wait, try to find a line that’s still safe, but not slow, to get the guys to, yes, stall, they breathe for sector 4, without loosing too many seconds. I clearly think that the race doesn’t win here, but on the other hand, it can get lost here. In the end, we’re really at a standstill. And to not show or at least indicate where the racer stands, you know, red, green, or indicate a delay or an advance at the exit of this woods, are these things that can be done? Yes. So, personally, I don’t think it’s at the exit. It’s at the entrance. Because the risk-taking in the woods, is evaluated according to where you stand in sectors one and two. It’s useless when you’re just out of the woods, because there’s no point anyway, sector four, no matter what you’ve done before, you have to give it your all. So it’s more management and the management and commitment you’ll have in that area. Knowing that, to be honest, even if you’re late, come and take risks in this sector is to create lactic acid, adrenalin, a questioning you don’t want to have in sector four. So in the end, it’s not a good idea to give him a hint. Personally, at least in the discussion I have with my athletes, this is not the case. And I think that on the other hand, be lucid in sector 4, precise, dynamic and if you want powerful in pedaling, on the other hand, will pay off. No, I check what Specialized put in their sandwiches. There are substances Well, after that, we’re also in Scotland. There are also things you buy that are already unclear ! No, no, no, no, no, The guys are crazy. It sticks them in the thing. It’s super hard, it’s midday. They don’t even have time to wash the bikes. You see Kevin and… Jordan Williams too, they’re don’t even have time to put water on the bike. They’re in a hurry because the timing is mega-tight because of that red flag. They’ve just arrived here and now they need to warm up, they ride to warm-up, do the home trainer, etc. I saw Finn that went on in two seconds while I was eating and everything. We’re not going to disturb them, they have absolutely no time, but it’s going to be pretty special.. Because they’re putting the wheels on, they don’t even change the tires, they just put the new wheels on. They put on new wheels because than the other pair of wheels, the racing pair. You can see they’re in a hurry. Loïc looks calm and chill. It’s not easy to manage because they were… Plus, they they were stuck up there, if you will. They were stuck up there for almost an hour. They couldn’t even go down with gondolas and say…That’s all. They had to wait, there was this evacuation. So it’s a waste of time. As Loïc said earlier, we bumped into him and he said: "We don’t have much time." It’s going to be interesting. Will it distract racers or not? In all those we saw descending, more or less we’ve seen two or three of them fall and lose their concentration. Because they were stuck for an hour, because it takes time. It’s a question of saying to yourself: "Am I going to be late for my start ?" Etc. So it’s not easy. We just wanted to see how it felt. So the fact that there’s an extra semi-final doesn’t make any difference. It’s really the red flag which is the fact, which makes this delay. Let’s see what happens. We’re with Laly, we’re with the guy who has made the most runs of the entire day today. Yes, definitely. Already this morning, the last training session with all the red flags, it was a mandatory full run. Then, in qualifying, a red flag, but only on the last jumps for me. So one rerun, two qualifying runs. And now, a semi run, I’m bursting. The guy made four full runs today. Four full runs, plus a warm-up run anyway, because you had to warm up for that. And there, we were just saying, quick, there, I have the impression that there’s less intensity in the guys. I have the impression that the qualies is rolling slower than before. Exactly. I think that anyway, there is always this stress of passing the qualies, so everyone puts it on full blast. Now that we know we’re in the 60s, you want to get into the 30s, but it’s survival because in real life, we’re dead. Especially Fort Bill. Yeah. Especially in Fort Bill, when you have runs of 4 minutes, 20, it’s physically hard, so you’re dead, the run’s no better. The last 30 will be the guys who worked out this winter. Yeah, well, not me. Thanks, bye. Lolo, that was amazing. I have two questions. The first question is: does rain… Has anything changed up there or has it improved a bit? Or was it windy? How did it go? No, not too much wind. Frankly, that’s the good part, it rained, so it was soaking wet on the ground, there was a bit of a drizzle, so the view was no worse. In the end, it was better than rain, but still a little more difficult. The track, moreover, dead and slippery. As a result, the stones slipped a lot more. The dirt, no, but the stones, crazy stuff. There were holes everywhere. Frankly, it was really hard. So very "square". I think that’s the case for everyone. It was hard to be round. Yeah. So, not too happy up there. It’s usually my favorite section, and I was kind of bad… But I arrived in the woods, I secured the woods. I didn’t go very fast, but at least I did my job, I didn’t make any big mistakes and I rode fast at the bottom. So good result, it’s a good day, one, three. And just for that, you make 0,8 earlier in qualifying and 14, that’s six seconds more. Yes ? Yes, 4.14. So, that’s why I’m asking you the question, is it the result of all these full runs? No. You see, it’s the track that’s deteriorating, It’s slower, that’s for sure. Physically, it was misery today. It’s 6 p.m, man. I know, we’re running really late. This is unprecedented. 7 hours in France. Yeah, crazy stuff. 6h00, 7h00 in France. Crazy thing, the day we had. I think it was a bit difficult. It was almost dark up there. Between the fog and everything else, we thought: Well But no, it’s cool, happy with the day. The game is tomorrow, so we’re going to have to find little solutions left and right. See you tomorrow. Good luck. See you tomorrow. Let’s get this day over with. It must be 6pm, I don’t even know. 6:00 p.m. starts here in Scotland, so it’s almost 7:00 p.m. back home. So we apologize for the video being a little late. We’ve seen that first time with this semi-final that follows. Very physical, we saw the times slowing down. We had some surprises too. I’m thinking of Myriam, who is also coming back, but this will be the new format. We have to be used to, and of course we’re all looking forward for the big final. Tomorrow, we also remind you of our DT Swiss competition to win these DEG hubs. Which you can follow on Full Attack’s dedicated page. We’ll leave it open until Monday, I think. I’m really looking forward for the final. It’s going to be just crazy and incredible. Tomorrow, we’re going to get together for debriefing, normally at DT Swiss. And I just can’t wait. See you tomorrow. Ciao, bye.

    2. Top, merci beaucoup.

Good job
