Balkan Motorcycle Advanture – Bulgaria & North Macedonia 2/3

We carry on to explore the Balkans countries.

[Music] [Music] we are heading south uh chasing better weather and we are going through this National Park the name I cannot say because it’s too hard for me so you can read it down here and it’s really nice Road for motorcycle there is a really huge Canyon H lot of beautiful nature so it’s really nice ride our first night in Bulgaria we are going to spend on this top of the hill about a small city named belic and tomorrow we are going to discover and explore a bit of the surroundings I have another problem with my bike I was expecting this but I didn’t see it coming so soon yeah we have to change the rear bulb because yesterday this Bob had a party and today she died because of all the alcohol she died what can you do we are so lucky to have problems like this so lucky [Music] we parked our bikes in the town and now we’re walking to the Fortress these sandstones are pretty amazing they create huge trucks it all started 200 million years ago there was shallow sea and some Rivers BR these stones and clay and compressed together after some period sometimes they have really nice red color and do you know why because it contains oxygen of iron we came to the gate of the Fortress and uh for 12 L uh for two person you can get [Music] in the history of the Fortress dates back to the Roman Empire it consists of the three parts that were built one after other and the oldest in in the middle of a rock formation which was a good protection and there was no need to build many walls the foress was tasked with protecting an important trade Road it was conquered by Ottomans in the 13th century and turned into a refuge for the Army right now we are on the top and I have to say the panoramatic views are really gorgeous just look and uh tell us down below what shapes do you see in those [Music] rocks we found nice place for sleeping and uh in the night it was really beautiful sky we could see the Milky Way it was all over the sky so it was really amazing and nice and now we are heading to Sophia and we’re going to eat their Bulgarian waffles because they are the best 4 mil this is it this is what I was talking about this is going to be really really nice was delicious and one I could handle one more but we’re going to [Music] go so we’ve got this nice great welcoming to the macadonia uh round number two and we are here so it’s nice finally bu fore foree [Music] [Applause] [Music] fore hey pick so State know h [Music] we just arrived in our first stop it’s the stone dolls uh the way here comes through the really nice uh landscape so come on and let’s check it out [Music] one of the Legends says that a woman who was supposed to marry a man saw him marrying another woman and curs them and all the guests and turned them into the stone in fact this could happen thanks thanks to a volcanic eruption 10 million years ago and 20,000 years ago natural erosion creates this beautiful stone town [Music] I have to say that I didn’t expect this really nice road but thank you for that I hope just the the last part is going to be some nice Offroad nothing hard thank you and here we are going through a forest and it looks like it was burnt it’s uh a bit creepy but it looks interesting on one [Music] side we are in coino one ,000 m above sea level and the reason why I wanted come here is that uh this place should be one of the best places in Europe where to watch Stars so I cannot wait uh for a night and for the sky full of stars and what is interesting is that uh 2,000 years before Christ uh was here an ancient Observatory so it’s pretty amazing right the first astronomers created a plat form here and we’re able to determin the solstice and Equinox using signs on the Rock we can see a last piece of sun it’s a really beautiful sunset here it paints really nice colors on the sky and the the mountains everywhere around it’s really really nice and great [Music] yeah I like morning like this one when you go up and see this so calm here now it’s really quiet and peaceful it’s going to be nice day [Music] we are on the highest point here it’s not possible to get higher well it is but we don’t have the right herbs so we are on the highest point [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] yesterday we arrived to this hotel in Scopia and and uh we take a rest a bit and eat and sleep quite a while and today we can go to the old city and to some old Bazar to take a look what uh what do they have there and yeah I cannot wait so let’s go we’re going to try some food some sandwich with beef me and T gra so it should be like bacon no beans sorry it should be like a beans gra so we’ll see what we will get yeah it’s nice very hot really [Music] nice 500 g 2 kilo 2 kilo kilo yeah white three we are in a center on a square uh next to us is uh Old Town bridge and I have to say that they’ve got here quite a lot of historic sculptures and it’s pretty nice here yesterday we walked through the city and today we’re going to make uh one trip to the matka canyon I saw a lot of pictures and I read quite a lot about it so I cannot wait to be there so let’s go we are here we will take a walk and I hope we will find the boat uh thanks to them we will see the Canyon from the river and we should get to the cave uh it should be a really nice one [Music] in front of us is 2minute walk to the small hill and we are there the ra cave has two entrances one above water level and one under it it is considered to be one of the deepest underwater caves in Europe professional divers got to 240 m in depth but did not reach the bottom so the cave still keeps it secret you can choose if you want to explore Canyon on the water or this path which is curved into the rocks [Music] from a nice trip we came back to Scopia and since the morning we knew that something’s going to happen here today 8th of September is an Independence Day in Macedonia and what we witnessed today is just a rehearsal for a military parate still impressive we are going on the road again tomorrow so today we will try to enjoy the spirit of the night City [Music] [Music] from gar we took pretty nice rout uh through the forest and through the really nice nature and now we are going to the cave of kov Vita they are calling it as well Beauty cave and actually we don’t know what to expect because we couldn’t find much information about this cave this is an entrance and we are not even there and I can feel the cold from there already so it’s going to be fun by the ands we already found something but we have no idea what it could be so if you know it just let us know we want to be smart yeah watch your steps oh yeah Beau we came a bit deeper to the cave and I have to say that the the the walls are really nice and beautiful I can say that I’m a bit scared because I heard something and we can already hear some water so I’m uh I cannot wait if if we can uh reach the waterfall and the the lake what is here or no and just if you’re going to come here just please be careful don’t destroy yourself don’t destroy the the the beauty of this cave and just let uh someone know that you are coming here this is the end of our way through this cave because there is quite a lot water and we don’t have U equipment for it so for sure I would love to come here back and reach the waterfall but next time we’re going to be more prepared I promise so one day we will show you what is there it’s a really nice place where you can enjoy camping but as you can see sometimes you camp in rubbish Place yeah unfortunately after night we wanted to go and climb up Mount corab but the only way was closed so now we are waiting till 4:00 yeah they are making a new asphalt so it has to dry so we cannot go there doesn’t matter we find here um underwater Church which is not underwater which is a bit pity for me because uh I was looking forward uh to see it and it looks like they are making some reconstruction and the lake is uh quite low the the water is not it’s not that much water in this Lake after a few hours the road finally opened and we could head towards monora tomorrow morning we will start climbing the highest mountain in both Macedonia and Albania this is where we’re going to sleep today uh there is a border Tower which is right now empty nobody is there and uh we met uh quite a lot people from Poland it’s going to be fun uh they are making already fire so we will build a tent and then we will join them and make some food and going to have some fun and tomorrow we try to wake up early because 8.2 km are waiting for us uh to the top so the map St it’s going to be for 5 hours so let’s see I think with this camera it’s going to be maybe six but it’s okay because we have all day [Music] we woke up at 6:30 and now we are preparing for the climb Rosie make herself beautiful as she is she is but it’s going to be better and I’m packing some food after that we start big pck is getting a bit heavier because we are taking out all the clothes what we can it’s not hot it’s a bit warm but it’s not even cold it’s not hot so it’s pretty fine and uh amazing views so I hope it’s going to be how day like this everywhere here around are blueberries do you see that Summit that’s where we’re going to go so we can finally see it it should be uh something about 2 km the way till now it was quite okay some parts were a bit harder they were quite steep but now it’s like easy nice walk so just just this and we are there [Music] last part is definitely the worst one you cannot see it but almost there this is it half in Albania half in Macedonia and 2,764 M that’s cool I wasn’t higher and I didn’t think on this STP we’re going to get higher so we came at the perfect time because in 10 minutes some storm came and was really freezing and snow and windy so we had to uh descent a little bit [Music] we are back at the base camp I am really glad that I’m I’m sitting yeah it was not easy not hard but definitely worth it yeah that’s true so now we’re going to pack our stuff uh eat some small snack and then we’re going to go a bit down because we want to have some warmer temperatures and uh I don’t think we’re going to uh reach it today but tomorrow we will visit lazaropole and you will see what is [Music] [Music] there finally we reached Village Lazaro it’s supposed to be an inhabited Village doesn’t seems to me and there are a lot of people around and a lot of cars so it’s a little bit disappointing because I was expecting something else like really uninhabited Village but yeah what you can do you have to find out yourself The Village was once abundant but after a while it was inhabited again so we have kind of outdated information at least there’s a great road to the village and spectacular views we are pitching our tent it’s already dark it’s something after 7:00 and you cannot see anything but not every night or every evening is romantic with fire and some delicious food sometimes you have to take whatever you just have to take whatever you got [Music] yeah we just arrived to the city of Orit they have a lake here with the same name so we will take a look we’re going to a bit explore it here we’ve got some tips what to see so in a minute you will see as well like it here finally the sun is shining and we can enjoy the nice weather and the water is here so perfect right now we are in Samuel’s Fortress so that’s it that’s all what I know never mind throlls I will tell you the first fortification were built by Philip the of Macedonia in the first century in the 11th century king samula of Bulgaria had the Fortress repaired and orid became the capital of the first Bulgarian Empire over the centuries many churches were built here and at one time there were even 365 of them one for the each day of year I have to say that I really like or uh the city and the lake as well it’s a pretty nice water and not cold uh I think like I could spend here two three days uh one day I would do nothing and just lie on a beach and enjoy the sun and water and another day just uh take walks into the city because they’ve got here lot of things lot of old houses and churches [Music] this is a bay of the bones an archaeological site of pile dwellings so let’s see how people lived at that time the village was built on SS about 2 m above the water it is a reconstruction of the original ancient Village the open air museum is built according to archaeological finds from the M of the lake if you visit you can see several hearts with equipment from that time about 6,000 Stakes were found here and there was several similar reles in the vicinity I could really imagine to try to live in those houses above the sea or in this case above the lake and just listen to the water and live simple life right I like it here it’s nice we just arrived to the small beautiful Village called tra and it should be the most beautiful water here from H so let’s take a look I cannot say if it’s the the most beautiful water in oit but I think it’s pretty nice and clear and yeah I would like to jump it uh straight away there if I would like to get some rest for a few days I would definitely pick this small village it’s really calm this really nice Beach but not too much to to do so for me like an adventure man it’s not so for for long term so yeah we’ll move [Music] on we are on a boat uh we are going around the small Lake uh and it looks pretty nice already water enters the Lake from several Springs that flow from the neighboring Presa Lake through the galich mountain some spring directly from the mountain some bubble through the Sandy bottom of the lake no fish live here because the water is P for food and is so clean that you can drink it [Music] thank [Music] you here next to me you can see how the river black dream uh is coming into the O if it’s not going to be that cold I would like to jump in but it’s not for me but it’s really nice beautiful clear water it’s awesome here I like it you
