A look at the early 80s Tange Aero Dynamics frameset which was used by Tioga, Schauff, Shogun and Coventry Eagle.

[Music] today we are looking at four Prospect 1980s BMX racing machines the tooga rhino charge the Sha Anaconda the Shogun and the centry eagle which all use the same early 80s Tans Japan aerodynamics frame set the aerodynamics is classic tang and shares many common features with other early mid 80s Tang frames it was only available in Chrome had Tang Japan stamped on the bottom bracket above the serial number had dropouts from the cuara kz1 and the rear triangle with its Arrow chain stays and flared lower seat tube is the same as the rero pro burner but what makes this frame a little different are the top tube and the down tube which are tapered and are thicker at the head tube end than they are where they meet the bottom bracket and the C2 I recently picked up this extremely rare centry eagle with the Tang aerodynamics frame set from eBay for £350 centry Eagle were a UK company who started making bicycles in 1890 in the 1980s they began retailing BMXs using Tang frame sets this centry Eagle had all red components when it left the shop as a complete bike in the early 80s including the Tang seat post clamp tagi crank set and Sr pedals still on it today this particular bite was stolen from its original owner and then recovered but most of the original parts had been removed as well as the serial number the original owner said the frame set used to have a Tang aerodynamic sticker on it and that it had centry Eagle decs on the down tube but he doesn’t recall the bike having a model name Coventry Eagle also offered a model called the Mamba which was simply a re badge Tang hot heart I’ve seen a few of these hot Heart mambers come up for sale on eBay over the years but there is only one model currently on BMX Museum this mber is almost a complete Survivor apart from the Skyway wheels and the tires if anyone has any more info about these commentary Eagles Please let me know in the comments another classic old school BMX which used this same Tang aerodynamics frame was the tooga rhino charge from 1983 to 84 the rhino charge was paired with tang made tooga Max flow Forks also with high-end Japanese Parts German Bike Company sha also used the Tang aerodynamics for their own bike the Anaconda which was paired with tang ARX forks and more high-end Japanese Parts apparently the Tang aerodynamics frame was developed with the help of Perry PK Kramer the old school BMX racer who co-founded SE bikes and gave his name to the legendary PK Ripper sha bikes even originally branded the bike as the PK anaconda and supplied PK Anaconda decs with the frame but later dropped them for copyright reasons Shogun were another company who took the aerodynamics frame and added their own Deals they also did their own version of the Tang hot heart the Shogun hot heart there are five Shogun with the aerodynamics frame on BMX Museum so here is my centry Eagle now I wanted to stick with the original Red theme but also keep the yellow ogk wheels which the original owner had put on I added some gold Pro neck bars a straight seat post a red cimax arrow some red ODI mushroom grips and a red mx1000 rear caliper that’s all for now thanks for watching [Applause] a
