[Music] it was the waters and trails of bulag manyi that set the stage for stop two of the exteror world cup with the star studed lineup of over 50 Elites ready to battle out in the first European stop of the series but despite the postcard scenes of White Sands and turquoise water it was a deceptively tough course that we waiting with plenty to think about on the bike and one of the most most brutal runs of the series The Race begins with a two-lap 1500 M swim in the AG andc before transitioning into a 2lp 30 km bike ride filled with sections of loose Pebbles problematic sharp rocks and numerous Punchy climbs that would make finding the right flow no easy challenge yet possibly the biggest challenge would be the 9.2 km run with an immediate technical scramble to the highest point of the Run course draining energy from already tired legs ahead of the final Sprint to the finish with 100 World Cup points at stake in the second full distance race of the series some were out to add to their Tally from Taiwan whilst others were looking to open their World Cup campaigns with the strongest start possible all eyes were on the double champ Arthur serier as he looked to get his World Cup run underway in Greece after opting to skip Taiwan in favor of an extended winter training period in Europe I am someone who working really well with a really hard winter training and for me the best way to work and to be on my top shape is to work like that so I think missing this races could be a nice advantage and yeah for me it’s the best way to start a season but standing in his way was the biggest OnCourse rival and current series leader the formidable Felix fisser 2 1 it was Jules Dumar who initially set the pace in the water pushing hard to create a gap ahead of Felix Fier Michel bonacina Maxim shanet Federico spazi and Arthur serier who would exit the water less than 10 seconds behind Arthur fris was off the pace in the water but would gain time back with the second fastest transition of the day to show his intent not to waste any time in finding the front of the race on the bike Dumar was quickly caught as the four Frenchmen and Two Italians formed a lead pack but a determined Arthur fizer had already bridged the Gap by the first big climb using his momentum to steal a march on the group with only his younger brother daring to go with the pace on the beginning of the bike I feel immediately that I had a crazy feeling on the bike so I decided to push when I catch the leading group I just ride the bike the way I like to ride it this move exploded the group behind leaving serz and the rest of the Field playing catchup whilst the two brothers would work together to control the race from the front [Music] clearly committed to his move Arthur friser rode almost the entire second Loop front leaving many to wonder if perhaps the current series leader was beginning to struggle into the Run world champion Arthur serier began to do what he always does best closing the Gap by almost a minute by the end of the 9.2 km run but it was never enough to catch the ficio brothers at the front of the race with the real drama still yet to come going into the Run almost side by side Felix Fier had begun to create a small Gap and looked to be on course for a second series win but heading into the final moments of the race with little more than a 10-second lead the young younger brother made a wrong turn that cost him first place so I just a little bit confused about where he’s going now yes I actually think he’s lost he’s supposed to be on the beach at this point oh gifting Arthur frizer his first win of the series I would be very happy even with the second place today uh because the what makes me happy is the the way I raise today it was a dejected Felix for who crossed in second place yeah I have some mistakes on the beach I see the arch and yeah I was thinking okay it’s here so it wasn’t here for that’s the game surging Arthur serz would claim the final spot on the podium just 11 seconds behind [Music] in the women’s race it was Sandra Maya Hoffer that added the most Intrigue into the pre-race buildup with many to see how the former two-time European champ would stack up against solm onean and Aliza patiz in her first race of the series I choose not to do all the workup races and stay a little bit more close to Europe with the races and I have to look a little bit how the season is working but I will try to be there on my [Music] best yet it was anetta grab Müller who would back up her performance in Taiwan to solidify herself as one of the biggest upand comers at the top of this women’s field the Czech athlete attacked hard on the swim creating a big gap between herself and the rest of the race defending Greece Champion Emma dukra found herself in a Solo Chase pack the top contenders Solen Bill onean and Sandra Marhofer chasing close [Music] behind grab Muller held her lead on the bike for the first few kilometers but it wasn’t long before the world champion Sol U1 had found a familiar place up front grab Muller held the wheel of the Champ for as long as she could but the elastic eventually snapped and Bill Juan demonstrated her power on the bike to open up a 1 minute and 40c lead into the final stage of the race Sandra mer Hofer had worked her way into third position but despite her recent Prest on the mountain bike she was unable to make any significant inroads Into the Now 3 minute gap of the front so Len Bill Juan was never going to take her foot off the gas claiming both the fastest bike and run splits for a second race in a row as she crossed in first place to claim yet another Series win I felt less confident than in Taiwan but actually my body was more fresh but uh I prepared well like the race in my head before I analyze very well the cool so I think that’s also why I could win here anetta grab Muller held her place in second supp post her best result yet with momentum almost seeming behind the check hope as she now moves up to a tied second place in the overall standing I have no words uh obviously I’m really happy about the second place uh I did not expect it but I think anyone who watched the race and saw the Finish Line FS can see how surprised I was by myself Sandra mayhoffer held off Eliz patiz to claim her place on the podium she’ll be happy with a Podium finish in her opening race now heading into the rest of the series with a clear understanding of the level she’s up [Music] against it was drama and domination that defined the second stop of the exteror World Cup Series but not quite enough to deprive the leaders of the golden Jersey as we head into stop number three Felix Fier will be disappointed with his Finish Line mistake but he keeps his position at the top with 190 points however brother arur now moves into second with only an eight point gap small enough to be bridged by just one more full distance win so Len ban sits at the top with a perfect score after going undefeated in two races while grab Muller will be pleased to see her name move up to a tied second place for 2023 World Cup champion aliz pz two stops are now down but the biggest opportunity for a series shakeup still awaits at stop number three in Oak Mountain it’s the first of the double feature stops where a full distance and short track race on the same weekend
