Just picked up a new Trek Domane SL5 Gen 4 to upgrade from my Trek FX3.

I noticed some weird discoloration on the frame. The guy at the bike shop said this is normal with carbon frames but I just want to make sure I didn’t get a defective expensive new bike…this is normal?

Thanks in advance

If it’s raw carbon yes it’s normal but the last 3 pictures you’re missing the iso speed cover

That’s literally just the carbon layup.

It’s visible because that is the color/paint scheme you picked, which allows for the carbon layup to be visible through the clear coat. All carbon bikes are like this, as they are not made with a single piece of carbon. However, most are not visible because they are equipped with many layers of paint.

It’s not weird. It’s all specified on the product page of the bike, and even is shown in the product photos. For being so worried about an expensive bike, you really didn’t do your research.
