It’s been a dream start for Darren Jones in this season’s Shell Oils/Aprilia RSV Mille championship. The Chesterfield rider brings to Oulton Park a 100% record, and he will be fiercely defending this achievement today. Darren’s 2004 Speedaway V-twin has been working perfectly, but today he’s again likely to come under considerable pressure as he has done in the last two rounds. The 20 point advantage Darren has over Marc Ramsbotham is due mainly to a poor result where Marc was forced to remount after being involved in a skirmish in the last round at Croft.

However, Marc, a self-employed commercial fitter from Wymondham who was fourth in last year’s campaign, will be determined to prevent Darren running away with this series. Dylan Fox currently sits third, and he will be a key rider in today’s race while John Pugh, who scored a podium third in round one at Snetterton, will be waiting to eclipse this result, and definitely put the last round result behind him.

welcome back here to Alton park for our final look at this third round of the M powerb toour Daniel tarret on Poll for the ailia proac ailly a th000 mlie series as we wait and there is Darren Jones number three who leads the standings coming here today 50 points Mark Rams both them in second place behind him so as they get underway who is it that gets the start it’s wet it’s windy it’s cold and the bike racing it’s darn right horrible it looks to me like Daniel Tara has got the drop on the rest he’s number two on the bike it’s a 2-year-old a pretty a th000 RSV Millie and Daniel of course finish in second last year and Darren Jones his nearest rival with the number three plate of course he finished third it’s between so there is Rams Botham that’s the 40 that number six bike there of John Pew from Birmingham going through he had I think the 48th bik of Mark hugan boom behind him there he is 48 MK hugan boom now that’s a very unusual name I must next time I see him at Brand sat I musk ask him what nationality that name is associated with maybe Dutch or something or double dutch there is the well I think that’s 56 bike yeah inde that’s the 56 bike going through there of Dave Cambridge from wi Church he’s on the spearmint blue ailia there’s several of these Lads here today keep an eye out for them 57 58 and 69 all appear to be uh all from wit church but it’s number two Daniel tarret that leads them through Rams both them in second place at the moment number 73 then it is Darren Jones the series leader and you remember these two had a really good scrap at the previous round up there at Croft and the result just going to Darren in the end Darren of course winning the opening round and the second round but at the moment Daniel tarret who missed round one due to the fact thatth he felt that he didn’t have enough financial support to race this year but he came back at round two on his 2-year-old bike and the certainly showed you don’t need a new bike to do it on I have to say Darren Jones is out on his last year’s bike today he’s left his new bike in the garage it’s too wet and slippery doesn’t want to risk getting scratched I don’t blame you Darren they’re not exactly cheap are they remember the guy that wins this series gets a brand new one from ailia at the end of the season up the hill they go once again towards the uh the back of the circuit and then they’ll come back around down the start finish straight that’s number 10 there Steve Kenworthy from penury and that’s the number 57 bike of Steven speed from from wit church that’s another one of those uh little group of lads that come away from wit church either the one in shopshire or the one in Dorset there’s several wit churches around the UK but if it’s the one from shrewbury that’ll of course be the one right by the famous hawkstone Park might across circuit no change at the moment with the top three it’s still number two tarot that leads it 48 is still the man there in fourth place at the moment may Mark hugan boom so Tet on the number two BO oh and that was nearly all over for Daniel Leah power was on a little bit too soon Rams Botham still there second with dazza Jones still there on the number three bike in third so they come down the hill into hes this is the new chicane named after the late great Steve Hislop who tragically lost his life in the helicopter accident last year it certainly wasn’t a good year for us last year was it what with David Jeff and Barry Sheen of course we’ve lost some great names to racing but we all move on and forward and remember them with passion and respect that could be the number I’m not sure who that is that could be 28 got a two one side eight the other yeah that’s John John cgand from East grinstead he should be used to this wet weather it’s always raining up there that’s the number 81 bik there going through and that’s uh sha Sutton from well wit church again I think they’ve all come from wit church today probably wish they were back happy wit Church it’s actually not far from mton Park so it’s only just down the road so that’s why they’re all here not far they’ve probably ridden their bikes here Daniel tar still leads this a Prett race the battle is still on for second and it still Rams both them from dazer Jones there he is and the 48 B still there in fourth place at the moment so it’s tet now will he get the back end slithering up this time oh no little bit gentle on the power this time it’s very very slippery out out there this is the battle for second it’s still dazer Jones in third that is 77 well there he is that’s Mr dible Officer Dibble and he’s just gone a lap down on the first three so come on Dave stop mucking around out there he’s a very nice bloke I can assure you that 33 just going through there that’s John Carson from in vaness he’s traveled an awful long way it’s truth probably raining up there as well there’s Daniel turret well ter said I think I can maybe win it this year bad news for Darren jonesz I think he had the feeling he was going to walk away with this that looks like fourth that could be the new fifth place man tet still leads it as they come into Fon here up towards Hilltop and down the other side into izes second place is it still Rams both of them no it’s not daer Jones has gone into second now can he he catch the man out front that man Daniel tarret well it’s not the best of do to be racing hard on any track it’s very wet very very slippery out there there is Darren Jones and already the Gap beginning to narrow between himself and the leader but Mark Rams both and there in third place that’s number 62 going through that’s Tony McBride the husband of one of our willing workers here she’s always on the start line that’s the lady with the blonde hair you’ll see her on the start line quite often this looks like uh well is this 71 yes it is that’s Mark Chapman from North witch again just up the road from the circuit here at all Park all park is in cheser and Under New Management now of course from Jonathan Palmer Jonathan has assured us that nothing will change bikes will be just as uh important to him as car racing and I actually believe him cuz he seems to be quite nice bloke in fact he offered to buy me a point so you can’t go wrong with that can you 16 coming up the hill here that’s dougo button on Trent with a 53 bike behind him at the moment just going through as we look a little further back there’s tet it’s already in amongst the back markers this is where it could all go wrong there’s Jonesy there’s Rams Botham and Rams Botham is well he’s not letting Jonesy get away at all so we may yet see a bit of a scrap on for second place between those two but Daniel tet just taking it nice and steady at the moment there’s that 62 bike again just going through of Tony McBride Tony taking equally just as easy here they come that is taret down Lakeside and it is AB Nam today I must add Lakes side cuz it looks like a river there is a lake right beside it that’s how it got its name there is uh the leader through fst’s where is second that’s a back marker number 81 there is second there is third three and 73 so Mark Rams Botham hasn’t given this up we’re looking back now to Fourth is this a new fourth place man I think it is yeah Paul Rogers has taken fourth then we got [Music] 53 looking for there’s the 48 bike of the original 4 place man he’s dropped off the PA just a little bit as the rest of the field come through but down the hill into his is once again comes our race leader Daniel Tara remember this is a one Mak series they’re all ailia thousands RSB ailia thousands road bikes they’re not permitted to change anything on the bike other than the uh what they call the race can and the chip they are treaded tires and this series sponsored Now by Protech there is that 48 bike going three once again of Mark hugan Boon comes from mton mry well anyway checker flag went out it was a win for Daniel Tara the bad news is that Paul Mark Rams both have crashed trying to overtake Darren Jones so Darren Jones took second from Paul Rogers Tony mbde Mark hugenon Chris Norris John cogin Ben carer James Archer Mark Chapman there in in in 10th Place well that’s it from Park we go to brands for round four hope you can see you there
