Let me show you around the Belgian city of Liège on the first day of spring. I take you from the central train station Liège-Guillemins, across the river La Meuse, up a 15% steep cobbled climb to the viewpoint on the citadel Montagne de Bueren. Traffic was sketchy, so I tried to behave and thank pedestrians for making space for me to pass.

00:00 Liège-Guillemins central station, impressive!
00:12 Let me show you around!
00:24 Walking stairs with cleats…
01:00 Putting on my stylish welding glasses
01:31 Not sure where to go
02:16 Say hi!
02:47 Excuse my creaking bottom bracket
03:15 Girl losing her earpods on the bridge
03:34 The steeze
04:51 Cyclist speeding up once he knew I was behind him
07:59 I feel like we’re in Paris
09:17 Taking it slow to protect our cyclists’ reputation
11:46 Oops, didn’t see that car coming onto the pavement
11:52 Prince-Bishops’ Palace
12:54 Toot!
14:20 Let’s get out of here
14:48 I say “merci” a lot when people move over, but the recorder doesn’t pick it up
14:51 In doubt whether to ride this narrow alley
14:59 Narrowest alley I’ve seen
15:53 Freaky tram rail
16:52 Hellish 15 percent cobbled climb!
16:58 Pro’s say cobbles hurt less when riding fast, I started way too fast, auch
17:34 Lactate
18:35 300 meters to go
21:15 Legs are cooked
21:48 But, the view is worth the pain
