I recently deadlifted 250kg in the same week as running 250km… This is how I did it.
Here are the 15 lessons I’ve taken from running 250km, so that you can apply them yourself: https://www.omnia-performance.com/15lessons

Thanks Fergus literally was after a video like this as an aspiring hybrid ( but currently only running)

Still watching, but I was wondering how you deal with sickness during training. Currently following 70.3 + strength, but I’m not very sure whether to shift or just skip sessions when you are sick. Any thoughts? 🙏🏻
Loving the deeper exploration you are bringing to this Fergus
Great content, very inspiring ❤
Well they do call it concurrent training in some arenas as the first time I heard the term hybrid it was weightlifting and powerlifting but I do a blend of everything, calisthenics powerlifting weight lifting strongman swing training circular training a tiny bit of bodybuilding and martial arts.
You are actually just a machine! Impressive and inspiring to watch 👌 just need to find my own motivation to get off my arse 😅 keep the vids coming Fergus!
Started the hybrid athlete journey because of you. Long way to go but currently running 3 times a week and lifting 5 times. Still adjusting my body to the training but it’s a great combo
Real question…. When are the tee’s coming back in stock?
Monday: lower body/ hill intervals
Tuesday: upper body/ steady state zone 2
Wednesday: fartlek or zone 3 or nothing
Thursday: variation and assistance lift day
Friday: full body/ zone 2 2-4 miles
Saturday/Sunday: long aerobic zone 2
Watching this while taking a hybrid shit
Im starting hybrid. Do you recommend traoning both ends on one day, or doing lifting and running on alternate days?
Thanks for helping me find a balance between my passions. I'm stoked for all the adventures that the summer hold. Cheers!
"and this is how i did it"
>lifted weight
>lowered the weight
>ran until garmin said 250k
thats it
If that is how all sumo deadlifts looked, I think there would be far less controversy… Unfortunately some gymnasts seem to be able to make the lift only 2" and that is why there is so much controversy over the lift.
Thank you for all this great content. I'm trying to balance both lifting and running, but I wonder how much you adapt your weigth training to support running, i.e. more uni lateral movements (Bulgarian Split squat, Single leg RDL etc.) and knee extensions, instead of heavy squats and deadlifts.
I love lifting heavy, but I also believe that I could probably do more efficient workouts to support my running/avoid overuse injuries.
Would love to hear your own considerations in this regard 🙂
Brilliant video as usually Fergus 👏. Got my first ultra in 7 weeks and 3 days! Over Exmoor in Devon, only 30 miles, but some decent hills. Also trying to keep the muscle mass I've trained for year for 😂
Looking forward to the 500KG & 500 miles 😂
Great video Fergus, been weightlifting and running for a few years now and you inspire me to push on more- cheers to you!
How would hybrid training work with BB workouts ?
Very good video, thanks
Can you test your sprint performance (i.e. 40 yd, 100m, or 200m)? It's a commonly held belief that Hybrid training is great for strength and endurance, but not for explosiveness and speed. Would be interesting to see if that is in fact true, especially for stronger hybrid athletes such as yourself.
