  1. I would recommend any road cyclist to get some time on the motorbike and learn taking corners, counter steering etc. Consequences are bigger, speeds are higher, you learn the traction limits better. You also learn correct sequences for emergency like breaking/adjusting speed in the middle of the corner or fast change of direction. Better/stronger breaks are not a problem – bullshit. Still worse breaks like rim breaks teach you better speed control coming into the corner or keeping safe distance. Tubeless are pain in the ass to maintain. Can be nice for triathlon or TT but I won’t put it on my daily racer.

  2. He (durianrider) is a simple person without any expertise, and thanks to that, the only thing he can enjoy is being controversial on YT. That is the only thing he is capable of and it is probably enough for him, but we can always find real experts with a proven history of success, with a professional background whose work is also positively evaluated by other experts in the field. Let's let this peasant live his limited simple life and don't waste time with him.

  3. It looks to me like rider #2 changed his line way too much, and may have gone off even if #3 was not there. #3 should have stayed behind #2 and not have positioned himself to allow #2 to affect his turn path, as once that was messed up, it led to panic braking. These guys could all learn from taking a motorcycle class.

  4. They also misjudged the corner like they thought it was less sharp than it was. Went in too fast blind, following the leader and most had a bad line. When they panicked and grabbed the brakes there was no modulation, they went straight down.

  5. Maybe the UCI should impose a rule that if you weigh less than 75kg/165lbs, you should not use hydro disc brakes on the road, or if the rider in front of you weighs less than 75kg/165lbs and is using hydro disc brakes, you need a 3 or 5 bike length distance between you on descents?

  6. When you get a flat tyre with any tyre, they don't corner, fact.
Brakes are brakes, hit them in a corner, your likely to go down.
I think this guy's just hating on modern tech.

  7. There was a house that blocked their view of the upcoming corner and as a group they overcooked the corner. That's it. What a bunch of crap to start blaming equipment and acting like a big fat know it all!

  8. been going on for a while now. all of sudden, the front just goes. this never used to happen. it's really hard to feather a disk brake. the super firm fork and head tube doesn't help.

  9. I love reading all the comments from the sub-45 crowd that it is in utter denial about the role disc brakes had in this disastrous crash.

  10. I ride with my front brake lever on the left. Use rim brakes and use my front brakes the most. Ive done a bit of MTB on gravel but had to learn to use the back brakes because the front would slide out becsuse of disc brakes. Dont know if this is the same that goes for road bikes with discs.

  11. Wtf r u talking about, basic corner?
It was bumpy road cos of trees roots under the road and very dangerous corner with high speeds, tubless my ass…
