cycling in the shared bike lanes & parks, we have barriers to keep out unwanted users. for a road cyclist, I can easily fit in these, others not so easy.
but what about other users, such as wheelchair users, pushchairs, mobility scooters etc?
I see the reason for restrictions like this, but is it unfairly discriminating against some legitimate users?
there are other access points with narrow gaps, but there’s also a service barrier. I’m not sure if it’s possible to request a key for use, or if you need to request access as needed?
this area is a wildlife zone with a few small lakes, parks and plenty of wildlife to spot from ducks, swans, geese, deer & a whole load of other beauties.

The ones which are two loops of pipe that a bike can fit through are even worse. Don't get me started on chicanes. Surely punishing motorised vehicle users isn't worth keeping people off shared use paths and stuck with traffic or a meandering route.
Should just make it much much harder to drive like in Holland, where there are far fewer traffic deaths.
These also mess up people with wide flat handlebars
