Hi Tim, it's obvious that councils are hellbent on wrecking independent businesses, because they can't control them the same way that corporations are controlled. I cycle more frequently now, mostly in Sheffield and I agree these cycle lanes are just a box ticking exercise and a waste of money. Langsett Cycles on Infirmary Road closed a few months ago because they didn't have enough custom to keep going.
Have you seen the new cycle lane on the A619 Chatsworth road / Baslow road in Chesterfield? What an expensive and pointless eyesore.
