One week is not nearly enough for a country like Russia! Just in terms of geography. 🙂 Even if you put major cities aside (in my cycling trips I figured I enjoyed stretches between such cities much more and if one wishes it's always easy to visit them on a dedicated trip) there's still plenty to discover!
And if you can include some river boat tours (I'm talking the likes of Enisey or Volga) in your journey you'd be able to explore so much more!
It's probably not the easiest thing to do right now but I want to believe it will all resolve in a better way eventually and politics won't be that much of an issue anymore.
