A Nurburgring class record!? Evija X is a track version of the all-electric Evija hypercar. While the core of the road going hypercar remained the same (chassis, battery, gearbox, e-motors, drive shafts), new parts were added to meet the requirements of one of the most demanding circuits in the world, pushing the limits and boundaries of the EV hypercar. New parts added include revised carbon body including splitter and wing with DRS, all new suspension dampers, carbon / carbon brakes, wheels and competition tyres.
It was tested on the Nurburgring first in June 2023, then early October, and returned Friday 13 October to see what was achievable. It was a damp day, so we weren’t expecting too much… sighting laps only in the morning and then two pacey laps in the afternoon, hitting a time good enough to class fastest car with a production chassis. We think it has more to give… so watch this space.

Brutal track
Frank Klass is somewhat misleading when he sàys the Nurburg is not a raçe track. They mày not hold events there today but they once did. So it is still à race track, just not an active one. Like they say: "Once a Marine, always a Marine"; "Once a race driver, always a race driver". It's in your blood no matter what happens afterward. Everything that happens before and everything that happens afterward, is just waiting. So too is the track.

It's electric…. Which means its NOT a hypercar and it never will be one!!! I'll take a screaming loud Ferrari F355 any day over this car!!!!
It's impressive, but EVs just don't excite me like ICE vehicles. I'll take a screaming lap in an ICE vehicle over an EV any day.
It feels like he's way too hesitant into and out of corners when the car clearly has the downforce to go 20-30k's more, maybe it has to do with the suspension not being set up adequately? He's doing sub-VLN quali speeds onmost corners despite having 3x the downforce as claimed?
I love the speed and it takes great skill to drive at those speeds… but as for me, the EV's (the cars) just have no soul! Sounds like a kid's slot car and not having the sound and rev of a gas engine just takes something away from everything I require from an automobile in my humble opinion.
