In this video, we walk through the heart of Munich / München, Germany, on an April day in the year 2024, exploring the famous and vibrant city centre. Starting at the Viktualienmarkt, we walk through cobbled streets lined with historic architecture, bustling market squares and charming cafes. You will see famous places from the Marienplatz to the stunning Frauenkirche. This tour does not include the famous Hofbräuhaus, which I will cover on another tour. Munich is renowned worldwide for its annual Oktoberfest celebration, attracting millions of visitors to revel in its lively beer tents, traditional Bavarian cuisine, and colorful parades. Additionally, Munich boasts a wealth of cultural treasures, including world-class museums, iconic landmarks like the Marienplatz and Nymphenburg Palace, and a thriving arts scene, making it a magnet for history enthusiasts and art lovers alike.

This video vlog, filmed entirely in 4K HDR 60FPS with high-definition binaural sound, captures the essence of the city center of Munich or München. The temperature during the recording was approximately 14 degrees Celsius.

    1. Thank you very much for the video. It was very nice to see the mixture of old and new.

I haven't been back to Munich since my 11th birthday in 1978 (I was born in a US army hospital near Munich in 1967). It was a rainy day and my mother, my brothers, and I got to see the new city hall, watching the knights-on-horseback moving around. We also shopped at a really nice three-story toy store (I'm not sure if it's still in business). I still have the Bavarian beer mug my mother bought me at the store. I wish I could visit Germany (especially Munich) again someday, but it seems less and less likely as I get older. At least I can see the city again via videos like yours.
