In September 2023, a group of 55 riders and support team departed Guernsey for the City of Avignon in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region of Southern France. Raising money for charity along the way, The Tour of the Roses traversed through central France, passing through Orleans, Moulins, Annecy, and Albertville, before reaching the Alpine climbs. The team conquered Col de Pre, Cormet de Roseland, Col du Petit Saint Bernard, and Col d’Iseran, before turning Southwest through Grenoble, and over the mighty Mont Ventoux, and finally onto the finish line at Avignon.

The Tour was a total distance of 1,560km, encompassing 17,500m of climbing, completed over 10 stages. With temperatures pushing into the early 40s on certain days and elevations beyond that which many had experienced previously, it was incredible to see everyone perform so well in extremely difficult conditions. It was a truly challenging event by any rider’s gauge.
