A roundup of some of the newest and most interesting new road bikes from the first day of Sea Otter Classic 2024, held in a very sunny Monterey, California. There’s a definite trend for road bikes with 40mm tyre clearance but a move away from the endurance category tag to all-road by some brands but regardless of the label these look like really interesting bikes. There’s also some beautifully classic from Ritchey and Moots so it’s not a complete carbon fibre whitewash!

    1. Some absolutely stunning bikes there. I feel like we have peaked…..especially the fifty one with geometry for mere mortals. Some of these bikes are all youd ever need for the rest of your life.

    2. There's no reason an all road bike isn't aero. Why brag about light weight when a bike can be both. In this day and age Saying a bike is only light or only aero means it's a poorly designed or cheap bike.

    3. Get a bridge bike he said they're building the best bikes in the world because they have experts, as if to say no one else does and carbon is some kind of rare or new tech.

    4. He said the bridge is a 9/¹⁰ aero? 😂 The sl8 isn't Even a 8 out of 10. Man these guys are something else. It's easy to see how they can fool the average Joe consumer.

    5. You posted this video so quickly. Thank you. Seems the 140-mile ride wasn't enough to slow you down. Integrated bar/stem seems to take over the show. Looks great in events, but a hassle in your garage. Whether you like their design direction or not, Ritchey doesn't waver. I'm not interested in their offerings, but I do respect them for being true to themselves.

    6. 5:18 "The bikes that the top guys are racing are probably not racy enough." I'm glad someone in the industry finally said it. Bring back long/low race geometries like Trek's H1 fit…modify it slightly for today's slammed-forward saddle positions (even longer reach, longer front-center.)

    7. Hi there David, my man.
Loved the transition to your sponsor Cams and the music with it..stands out nicely done matè.

This is something I like to do in the neer future.

      Thanks buddy 🎉

    8. All these new 'Allroad' bikes with tall stacks! What a new development! My 13 year old steel Salsa Vaya stirs in the garage staring at these shiny johnnycomelately bikes blearily.

    9. Not heard of Parlee but spokesperson seemed really passionate about the product and features seem to make a lot of sense, I was thinking pretty cool, until it went on to the next bike which looked exactly the same. The design looks quite similar to the Forge from Pearson, with the top tube that tilts up to the steerer tube.

Blackheart power coated style aluminium looks sweet.

    10. 2k for aluminum frameset is insane. I got my entire caad12 for $1600 with 105 groupset. Im sure that frame is much heavier. And certainly the release will be delayed.

    11. Those first three new all-road bikes, the Parlee, FiftyOne and Bridge, are magnificent. …far more interesting than any of the ’new' gravel bikes in the next video. It seems the all-road category is finally maturing and acknowledging the undeniable influence of ‘gravel’ on road bike development. Cheers

    12. So the new Blackburn Alloy bike is for the person who has their finger on the pulse of style, city or surroundings and not actually for cyclists. It is also entry level but has Sram Red AXS and Hunt Limitless wheels. Fantastic value then lol
