    1. Also, those cheap rental app bikes that litter street corners. Add e-bikes of illegal power levels police do nothing about. Add ignorance of road rules and sense by most young cyclists. Add arrogance, including among adult cyclists who are often of a righteous ideologically inclined mindset ! I myself have cycled on and off all my life but I can see the problems – for drivers, for the disabled and elderly.

    2. One fix would be to have the entire part of the cycle lane behind and or in front of the bus stop, painted as a pedestrian crossing. Cycles would then have to stop & wait when pedestrians were waiting to use the crossing or already on the crossing.. just a thought.

    3. 50 mph… has to be a pro cyclist on a decent downhill, fully warmed up and in aero position to do that.
Anyways, that would be breaking a speed regulation and requires a police conversation.
What suggestions do you have to improve these bus stops and cycling infrastructure, Nick?
I thought I might want to vote for you, but with this anticycling rhetoric will have to look elsewhere.
Now, if you had suggested middle of the road islands with protected cycling paths, it might have helped, but wait behind a frequently stopping bus? One would never advance, don't you think? Will you advocate for vehicles to stop behind all busses too? Or just cyclists?
