Ahh Spielberg and hanks, being the unrealistic ww2 series making duo is still alive to this day
Well done!🤗
CGI could be better
Well at least it has zero competition on the television these days…
Yanks winning the war all on their own with no help from anyone. A jingoistic turdshow.
I hate when people over criticize. Like this is accurate enough for a damn movie. Probably the most accurate in a damn while.
This is when cgi is put to Very good use as you forget it’s cgi, excellent series
Its a sin that this cost 250 million to make, I've seen better CGI on a History Channel documentary. The intro makes it appear that Barry Keoghan is staring in the show when he is little more than an NPC background character who just happens to have an oscar nomination and a successful movie career then the stars of the show
Why does it have the feeling of fricking Avengers…
unrealistic
I’m not gonna say the series is horrible. But ME-109s moving at the speed of sound just looks phenomenally ridiculous. We’re taking ME-109s here and not F-16s. And there were moments when B-17s were basically moving against the law of physics and aerodynamics. Like that sudden pull up in Greenland. Combat flight simulators have been doing much better since the 1990s. Why can’t a motion picture CGI do just as well. Seems like this is going to be a redo of Red Tails and the Red Baron.
This is just terrible.
The series has promise. Callum Turner in particular is shining as John Egan. I don't know a lot about CGI, so I'm not really looking at it, just as I'm no aircraft historian so I'm not counting rivets. The yardstick for modern 8th Army films is Memphis Belle, which was very good with a similarly strong ensemble cast but shows its age after 34 years.
One thing about the 90s film Memphis Belle I hated was how open they made the inside of the plane look. But anyone who had ever been to Memphis and seen the Belle knew that was not true. These planes were packed full with little room to squeeze through. This series gets it right.
So this isn’t a movie it’s a series?
Series looks great, kinda irks me that the .50 fire rate and sound is so off but aside from that visually it looks amazing.
The fighters keep attacking the front because that's where the B17s are most vulnerable at that point in the war.
I think that overaĺl the courage that these men showed is very important. Could we do what these young men did? (I know It's Hollywood.)
Go watch Piece of Cake that was on PBS many years ago about a Spitfire squadron in the UK during WW2. It’s a great series and very believable
What, did he forget what basic direction England was in? I think your crew has bigger problems when fighters are running on you 2 seconds before you demand an exact heading from your navigator who's dealing with wounded crewmembers and strafing fighters. I mean just point it in the general direction and we'll figure it out when the more immediate pressing needs have been addressed.
Looking forward to seeing this!
I've never understood how those bombers avoided shooting each other down.
In real life, yelling at a guy has no effect on whether they survive a gunshot wound or not. They are are not dying from a lack of toughness or a bad attitude. They are dying because their blood is falling out or their vital organs are too damaged to function. I don't know why there always has to be a scene where the wounded guy and some other guy argue about whether now would be an appropriate time to just die.
Excellent series, people shouldn't criticize the film. Well done. Our heroes. My late uncle died serving the 100th BG and was proud.
The critics already hate it,,,"too many charactors,,my thong is in a bunch etc",,,You know its great
Stole a lot from Memphis Belle it seems.
There was mistake, the 389th Bomb Group have only B-24 Liberator`s, and here we have B-17.
On the way back from the aborted raid, Cleven says ''…we’ll be back at base right after we dump these bombs in the Channel’’.
Well, that's a hell of a diversion from Bremen!
It is clearly the North Sea they are flying over to get back to East Anglia from there.
