    2. The UCI has been in a slow decay for rider safety. Without any competition or accountability change won’t happen. Team owners need to step it up. Athletes are paid to race and focus on results not arbitrate every incidence of a Professional Union’s ineptness. From Spectator issues, unmarked Road Furniture, unprotected high speed corners & motorcade related rider injuries and more. But I digress.

    3. No Mr Stephens, the people who do such, are not cycling fans (as you say) they're premeditated criminals.
Don't tie them as fans, because that's what the rest of us are, those that love the sport.

    4. Fully agree, things like that need to be followed up legally. Don’t just put it on the shoulders of race organizers. This is a legal threat. Officials shall make spectators accountable on such behaviour.

    5. Agreed, but it’s a case of this sort of behavior is always been there and it’s just now being exposed because of all 57 cameras rolling live the whole time?

    6. This are criminals !!! Not fans !!! Don’t push the fans back !!! or everyone has to suffer now for their behaviour !!! No !! Follow the criminals like this one !! ☝️

    7. Exactly right…in the UK it could be classed as an attempt to inflict grevious bodily harm, no doubt similar across Europe…that’s if you could find a cop interested in dealing with it properly👍

    8. It shouldn’t matter what’s being thrown, but more so the intent. If someone is throwing something at a cyclist or their bike, the intent is to do harm. Particularly in this case, it could have been bad. The perpetrator should have been found and jailed.

    9. We don't have a cyclists being injured by fans problem. We have a cyclists crashing due to other cyclists and road furniture problem.

Look at all the crashes and injuries in recent years. How many are caused by fans? Omi Opi lady incident and that's it
