Today is the big one – a festival of cycling covering 312km +4500m elevation in the beautiful Island of Majorca. Most certainly an iconic event in an Island that loves cyclists ! A massive challenge for any cyclist.

We hope this video will provide a helpful insight into this incredible event and experience, with contrasting scenery and terrain, demanding different skills and fitness – including insight on what I ate and how I paced it.

Massive thanks to Moray at All Things Ride for the my invite to the 312 and accommodation. I should add that I paid for Jayne and also a supplement for a larger room.

  1. Awesome man ! And thanks for saying gracias again and again. As a volunteer for the event this is much appreciated. You are all heroes. Come back next year ! 🍻

  2. A very honest assessment Phill, not sure after watching your video whether it makes me want to do the 312 more or less. Distance & elevation would be the challenge but the sheer amount of riders on the road & the traffic jams would put me off. Like you said it would probably help the pacing plan but all the queues at the feeding stations would be a real pain & maybe spoil the enjoyment. Chapeau for getting round.

  3. just did my first Fred at the weekend and found the beta fuel powder and chews did the trick over 8 hours, had a couple of cliff bars and a caffeine gel for taste change, but carrying 2 750ml bidons with 3 sachets worth and a spare 3 packets allowed me to consume much more than previous nutrition strategies. Rode in Majorca a decade ago but never in the 312…

  4. Another Powerful Paceline to the Rescue – love that line!! Brilliant Brilliant Brilliant Love your vlogging skills and editing snd of course loved the interviews with other cyclists especially the London Crew. TopJob Phil – i might be tempted next year

  5. Great video Phil, thanks for sharing. I think you said 'gràcies' more times in this video than the Vegan Cyclist says 'dude' in any if his productions, that is some going!

  6. I rode with you for a while (I was one of the guys you and the guy in the pink shirt were towing) – I tried to return the favour and tow you back to that group (I had 312 top, ride + white helmet you pass me in the video around 9 minutes) but you're already done way too much on the front. Really appreciate the tow and the video – great work.

  7. As always Phill, your videos with the help of Jayne are some of the best if not the, on Youtube. Well done on this ride….it's a one on my radar when I find some time – always busy.

  8. It was a great ride Phil. Started early in the morning. People are very good, thank you all so much. The route was incredible dude. Again, the views were magnificent. You are perfect in your route choices my friend. Greetings as always my sister Jane. Greetings to london Phil, see you. Bye.

  9. Great video, I didn't spot myself 😉 As you say the thing that amazed me was A) The organisation was brilliant B) The local support. I can't imagine this kind of event happening in the UK, on a Saturday, closing the roads, where the locals come out and actually encourage you by cheering you on. It was amazing!

  10. "being at kind of endurance pace for most of the climb" – 🤣🤣he is totally out of breath and barely able to speak…I can hear your panting. Nice video though👍👍
