Now all I need is a garden!
I just pulled a muscle in my upper back doing gardening last week. Digging out turks cap and pulling pulling those wicked roots out! Hurts really bad today. 😢It was funny, I could tell I had done something then, but not really painful, but I must have done something else that sent it over the edge a few days later so it went into near spasms. Doing McKensie method exercises and its slowly helping. Also hanging from a pullup bar.
Superb presentation, which goes far beyond gardeners and amateur gardeners. Congratulations for sharing your time and expert knowledge again.
Brilliant stuff Will. Definitely need to invest more in my mobility and balance.
So helpful, Will, thank you 🤩 Inspiring to know what can be done to stay active and gardening 😊
Such an interesting presentation. Your talks must be very popular. I have a rotator cuff injury which I’m going to have to be very mindful of. The shoulder positioning and warming up first could be really helpful. Thank you.
Taking breaks, thinking of how to do gardening tasks easier and safer before you do them, and warming up for repetitive motions is what I took away from Will' s presentation. Not mentioned is how gardening can be a good activity to aid in mental health. Thanks Will for another great ,longer video!
Outstanding.. as per usual. Thx
Great advice. Leaned a lot and will definitely try to put it into practice. I think it would be a good idea for all gardening clubs to have a talk on this subject. Many thanks for your guidance.
Pay someone to do it.
Great Meeting those folks are really lucky ti have you there.Thanks.
Just wondering Will if you would be able to do a video on back spasms. I am terrified and l mean terrified of them coming back, so much that l have not moved my back to its capabilities for over a year now. I am now suffering from many other issues such as, knee issues, neck issues and also other parts of my back giving me problems. I have tried to do research but there is nothing out there, not sure if back specialists just don’t know what to say. Back spasms are debilitating for those of us that don’t know what to do.
Thank you Will gardening is coming soon. I have to warm up more and pacing. Always helpful and encouraging to us seniors
Thank you very much for sharing very useful information
Excellent presentation, thank you. Although we all know most of the suggestions when someone points them out you do tend to pay attention. Very helpful suggestions. Happy gardening
❤
Thanks so much
Come spring, I used to get out full of enthusiasm and spend entire days outside, cleaning up from fall, working on my flower beds, etc., and getting older I started paying for it with stiffness, aching knees and hips and so on. A couple years ago, I set a rule for myself, that I’m not allowed to spend more than an hour a day out there. That really worked well for me. Over time the work got done, I enjoyed getting to spend time outdoors pretty much every day, and best of all, no stiffness, soreness or injury. As the summer progressed, I was able to extend my time working outside. Luckily for me, I don’t have any serious physical restrictions so it’s just a matter of being careful to ease into it each spring.
Absolute No 1. Let someone else do it.
I would never have thought of warming up muscles for gardening. That was a great presentation.
You truly are so kind to include videos like this! I only wish I lived closer to you but North Carolina , USA is rather far away, alas….
Hello Will!!
Greetings from Canada to you and your loved ones. Thank you very much for the interesting video for seniors and for me, which I watched from beginning to end. My name is Bogdan, my friends call me Bobbi and at work Robert. I couldn't understand for a long time, but now I understand. Maybe because, despite being a Canadian citizen, my language knowledge and vocabulary are still not as I would like them to be. I hope that I won't be able to improve it too much as I am already 77 years old. But I don't give up and even though it's hard for me, I keep trying. Thank you once again for an interesting lecture, even if I don't have my own garden or plot. However, I have a large 3×3 meter balcony where I have a lot of flowers and herbs in the summer. Greetings from the Toronto and Mississaga area, Ontario.
Warm and cordial greetings. Bogdan aka Bobbi.
P.S. It's a pity we live so far away and your personal advice would be very helpful for me. But I have subscribed to your channel from the very beginning, I listen and watch it regularly, and I always give you a thumbs up after each video. It happens even 2-3 times because I watch some videos again after 2-3 times.
I love your videos. They have helped me tremendously.
How about moving to Gainesville Florida.😊..
Julie
That was so useful. Thank you. Standing on one foot is a doddle, but when I closed my eyes, I was all over the place, which I found quite shocking. What does it mean?
