Grampian Campervan Hire have added an aire to their hire business and it’s in a lovely part of Scotland, in rural Aberdeenshire just below an amazing little hill called Tap o’ Noth, near Rhynie and Huntly.
For more details check the website at www.grampiancampervanhire.co.uk
Overnight fee is £10 and there are EHU points for another £4. It is a CAMpRA approved site. Tap o’Noth is also well worth a visit. It’s a fascinating little hill with one of Scotland’s largest prehistoric forts on the summit.
I’m based in the Scottish Highlands and I use a VW campervan to access the great outdoors, where I climb hills, ride my e-bike or gravel bike and just visit some of those places I’ve never been to. I’ve been climbing hills and mountains all over the world for 50 years and I’m a former editor of Climber Magazine and The Great Outdoors Magazine.

Good to see more options for stopping places but I can I ask that you make clear whether or not these aires have toilet facilities?
We caught on to the Idahoan mash a couple of years ago too. Not always the easiest thing to find though. The Co-op in Aviemore has recently stopped selling it. My veggie Missus won't be happy with bacon flavour though 🙂
My local hills.

great blog as usual, will try to get up in 2024
I agree with you about being snug in the van while it's cold/wet/windy outside.
I'm just back from Galway and it was great, though many places were closed for winter.
Hi Cameron, great video, the scenery from the tap o' noth was stunning, and anybody listening to the woman would want to go to her aire and hire a campervan. Her enthusiasm was infectious.
Your aire reviews are incredibly useful Cameron
another great video, with great tips, what size is your ridge monkey, being used to the northwest, must try over that direction!!
If you're cold in your van put the heating on, being wrapped as you are surely you wont feel the benefit when you go outside…😊
Lovely wee woman – I’m sure their business will continue to be a roaring success
Used to go to Aberdeenshire a lot as a kid. There are so many places of interest to see. The folk are really friendly. It’s good to see another aire open and I’ll keep it in mind.
Not sure about your diet All that UPF😂
We will definitely be visiting the Aire on our travels up to Shetland. Idahoan mash is our favourite so simple and tasty. Thanks again Cameron for your video
Thanks Cameron and I reckon I could get my 7 metre motorhome in there? Great to see these facilities opening up. Was parked at Ardgarten last weekend in my small van and minus 6 outside and lovely and warm inside the van. Can’t beat it Dave
What a great facility.
Tap O Noth has a fascinating history, lovely part of the world. I live in Moray, great camper location.
I love the way her accent wanders around from the Netherlands, to Scotland, and confusingly, North Wales…🤩 (I have dutch family, and live in Wales)
Very nice but as yet no toilet showers or wash up… nor did you mention the cost per night
Great to see a good prices Aire having just come back from France where they do it oh so well
Superb series Cameron, keep up the great work. It’s good to see that more aires are becoming available and your vlog’s are a superb introduction.
Good auld Ridge Monkey great bit of kit👏👏👍
Thank You More Aires Please Regards
Very useful intel as always. I rewatched your video on campervans. We are new to this & two yrs ago bought small motorhome. LWe think it’s too big for what we want & want to get a camper. We will do usual search but any recommendations anyone has on dealers with good range – prepared to travel – live in Edinburgh. Got motorhome Knowepark Livingston.
Ideas welcome
Lovely lady great passion! On my doorstep i live just north of Aberdeen. On my list to visit this year. I had a few nights in this area last year, some good road cycling in the area also, if you want to challenge yourself , Clatt to Alford always clears the cobwebs. Keep up the great work Cameron. Thank you.
Where did you get the dinner plates from?
