This time, the Stories from the Regions series takes us to the Poloniny National Park in north-eastern Slovakia at the Polish and Ukrainian borders. The area is a part of the Primeval Beech Forests of the Carpathians, which are classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Poloniny Trail is a backbone project for a long-term vision of developing the region both socio-economically and sustainably, relying on its rich nature and cultural heritage to revitalize the area by bringing in both the former locals as well as curious tourists in search of relaxation, culture, and adventure.
