To “safeguard the fairness” of the sport, British Cycling has become the most recent governing body to forbid transgender women from competing in the female division. The decision, which puts a stop to transgender cyclist Emily Bridges’ hopes of representing Britain in the female division, was made after a nine-month consultation and analysis of the most recent scientific findings.

    1. This not about discrimination but what you really are as part of the society, you have the right to make claims what you are but don't expect the entire world itself will adjust for you. Nobody stopping you what you believing or competing but you are all welcome to race in men's cycling competition if you are really qualified. Peace!

    2. Trans women will never be a woman. They are built in a way that makes if unfair when they go against women in sport. This has been seen over and over again . This is how it should be all over the world.

    3. About time. People compete in sports with their biological body, not their gender identity.

This athlete was a biological male and has always been.

    4. Hey if women want equlity i say we put women in a boxing match with men and after a few rounds of putting it live on tv and me laughing i think the women across the world will see who the superior gender is after all men are the ones who are stronger and sent off to war

    5. I sincerely hope more of this BS is cleaned up like this around the world. if you look at the comments anywhere — this is clear. When split up things in history, like sport, we didn't mean "feelings" — we meant the biology.

    6. For anyone who doesn`t know the sport, professional cycling worldwide is dominated by sponsored teams ,the same as motor racing.
After competing at Junior level only the very best will be selected by a team ,so if you want to progress for fame or money after that, then going into women`s side where there is a physical advantage means that there is a possibility of catching the eye of one of those teams .
Possibly not just a case of ` I want to go cycling with the girls`

    7. Well of course he/ she is. They must be soooo full of drugs for their condition and testosterone how can it possibly be fair, 🤯. Lance Armstrong proberly had less drugs in hus system.🙄. Does he/ she still have his Testicles and Penis too???. 😤. Now if FEMALES would just refuse to take part in competitions with the ones with a system full of drugs, for their " condition" ,even more so if they still have their Penis's and Testicles, common sense might come back into sport. The Trans community can have their own competitions ,just like those with special needs and veterans, both of which are respected and supported branches.

    8. The ultimate solution. Great thinking. All individual sports; 1 biological female category, 1 open category. This would work for Olympics and all types of competition. Instead of inventing a bunch of categories, this is the ultimate solution for fairness. If a biological male doesn’t like this, then consider the fact that you are not at this high level of competition.
