    The Cantii Way :: Day 2 :: Ramsgate to Canterbury



    Day 2 of 4 riding the Cantii Way, anticlockwise, starting in Folkestone.

    Day 2 threw some different weather at us than day 1, the golden sunshine being replaced by wetter, greyer conditions. I also woke up feeling pretty ill which is something that will become a bit of a feature over the remaining days of this trip.

    We rode a fairly leisurely ride along the coast and then inland to Canterbury.     It isn’t really related to this channel or the content I produce here but I have always enjoyed creative writing and a few years ago I wrote a short story about Father Christmas fighting zombies.
    My good friend (and friend of the channel) Woodie illustrated it and we had it printed as a little book.

      Yet another amazing commentary of an admittedly slightly less beautiful ride but it is, as always, about the company when you ride with friends. I did think that you two should have another channel after the first round of this ride called "The masons ride again", but I am now leaning towards "The Tufty Nubbins!". I am glad that you will be having a busy festive season and personally appreciate that there will be less to catch up with as we all dedicate more time to our friends and family at this time. To both of you and anyone else involved, enjoy your time away from editing and focus on yourselves. Thank you for all you have given to us followers.

      I did this ride in Oct 2022 and had pretty much the same weather you had. The upside is all the stretches on this day were nice and quiet, I wouldn't want to do it in peak season

      Might Want to rethink the duo bit… or how about bohemian rhapsody by queen… nice to see you rolled around my local coastline paths .. battled the headwinds many at time back from Margate. Happy travels.

      I want the two of you bunny-hopping your MTBs or BMXes in pace with the beats of "We will rock you" and then, towards the end, squealing the guitar riff with your misaligned brakes!

      A brief moment of concern when you stopped at the ruin, a strange Elf like creature wearing a grey hood peeped from a hole in the Ivy covered masonry, but was obviously frightened off by a bloke gazing out to sea and talking to himself. 😄

      It should be a lot of fun hearing you and Alan sing, I'm looking forward to that!!😉 I think the songs you mentioned in the vid would all be really good choices, Unchained Melody, Stand by Me and especially Grease, You're the One That I Want! (Including black tights, was it…😉)

      Since there are always music in my head, I've come up with a list of other very nice songs, many, though not all, are duets, but all of them could be sung together. Take your pick!
