The concluding part of this MAGICAL journey to BODØ in the far north of NORWAY. We pass the ARCTIC CIRCLE, dance with the MIDNIGHT SUN, cycle over 25km in tunnels, and marvel at the incredibly unique landscape this far north. I would love to hear what YOU think of this ride to the Arctic? Do the long tunnels put you off or would you consider it just part of the adventure? The aim of this two-part documentary was to give you a realistic view of what to expect along the way. Yes, the weather was unprecedented but I hope overall it can help you prepare better if you decide to take this epic ride one day!

    1. Whoaaaaaa ! Just breathtaking ! Amazing aventure, and thanks a lot for sharing that with us. Amazing video, amazing journey, amazing guy ! Don't know what to add. Just thank you Mat !!! Looking forward for the next adventure ! Definitely thinking of a bike trip in Norway… Btw, is there any video about you ? What are you doing for a leaving ? How did you end up in Norway ? I guess because of the famous Norwegian girls ;-))) Would be nice to learn a bit more about you. Take care and thanks again !

    2. Mathew, simply epic!
There are so many aspects of your video and editing that are absolutely stunning, amusing, mind-blowing and deeply moving.
Thank you for sharing your adventures with us – it feels like I've been on a Bike-Packung adventure in Norway myself.
Greetings from the Wild Atlantic Way in Ireland!

    3. Sundays in Norge are what it was like in Scotland 40 years ago. Dead. I got caught on a Sunday with little food and near every place was shut espec the supermarkets, here they are just open all the time. Not so good for shop workers but great if u need to shop. Somthing to bear in mind if cycling in Norge. I've done some of that route around Bodo, the cycle route into/out of Bodo was really good and the fishing around Saltstrommen was awesome.

    4. This was a good one. Epic camp spot. Fantastic panoramas at every turn.
It is one benefits of covid that this ride was probably easier as the traffic was probably a lot less than it might have been had covid not happened.
Yes, get out of your comfort zone.
What would be the best months to be certain of good weather to do such a cycle tour in Norway? July to september?
And is it wetter in the south than the north?
When do you think Norway will open up again to foreign tourists?

    5. Great content Matthew, really enjoyable to watch! Do you have any views on how this route would suit e-bikes? Mainly in terms of charging points along the way (accommodation, cafes, pubs etc.). Have done e-bike trips around the Dolomites and there are plenty of options… Norway looks a bit more scarce!

    6. Excellent video, but the temperature thingy at around 16:40 in the video is absolute rubbish. 25 degrees is FAR from "highest-ever" in this region. I live in Mørsvikbotn – from Bodø, that's east 55 km to Fauske, then 80 km north. We usually have a few days with over 30 degrees during summer, and last year (2021), we had a max of 36 degrees.

Btw, Saltstraumen (near the end of the video) isn't just the world's most powerful whirlpool (meaning singular whirl), it's the world's strongest maelstrom (meaning the whole stream). And the strongest part is just under the bridge you crossed. I've been there MANY times, I've even scuba dived there, which is safe when the tide turns.

    7. There you are riding past my house at 2:10! Man, it would have been great chatting with you. I suggested this route to you on the first video of yours I watched. Never mind…. 😉

    8. I live on the road between Svartisen and Bodø, really happy someone covers the beautiful landscape we have here, its amazing to see how others react to the amazing views you get here. Glad you enjoyed your trip, and glad again you share it with so many! (Amazing to see your reaction to all of the roads I know by heart!)

    9. I see you don't included any footage from passing the Glomfjord area.
Pro bicycling Norway tip, many tunnels have a road going around them, bypassing them that are not open for traffic, but open for cyclists. They are simply the old road used before the tunnel was constructed. Although some tunnels replaced ferry crossings, so not always there is an old byroad available for you to use.

    10. You cycled in 2020 there. Funny, I did it in 2019, and it was the same hot crazy weather that summer as well.. 😀 Great to see so many familiar places, and think back 🙂 Keep it up! 👌

    11. What a journey! Very facinating. I'm not familiar with the tunnels, but it seems OK to you. Guess I just have to overcome my fear.

    12. You were so lucky with the weather! Last july I only got glimpses of sunshine. Rest of the time: Rain and 10c. No views. After seeing this, I will certainly go there again and have another go.

    13. In a world smothered in comfort the true accomplishment is escaping it.
Now that is powerful !!! Love your videos and the way you embrace nature at its finest and at its worst.
      Safe travels.😊🇳🇴
