White Winter Wonderland – Cycling in The Netherlands with SNOW
We have got a white winter wonderland. A real snow storm – Darcy – came to The Netherlands. Time for cycling in the snow! I show you the Krimpenerwaard, an area in between Rotterdam and Gouda, which used to be an island. And my city Schoonhoven; the silver city, home to many jewellery makers.
Beautiful footage! Thanks for sharing. When I was a boy I always thought that skating on the canals in "Holland" (we never called it the Netherlands way back then) would be the coolest thing. Miles and miles of gliding on ice highways. I understand that doesn't happen much any more. I live in VA USA, we also have had a 'real' winter this year. I live in the Shenandoah Valley in the western part of the state so riding always involves a lot of hills. Rode 53 km today in -6 C. It's not so bad if you are dressed for it, though you have to keep moving because if you do stop for a break you can get chilled.

Jammer dat het zo kort bleef liggen. In Emmen is de sneeuw zo goed als verdwenen. De korte broek kan weer uit de kast.
