In this short video I take a look at how to tie the albright knot and how it can be used for attaching a fly line to a backing on a fly reel.

This knot can be used in other ways in fishing and I will cover more of it’s uses in later videos.

    1. I’m preparing some lines for my 18’ Keiryu rod. I’m planning to use the backing to tie on to the lillian. This should work beautifully. I got into tenkara a while back and now I want to learn how to do long casts with a fixed line.

    2. Genio . La isiste re corta y fácil . Me canse de ver videos para hacer ese nudo y todos lo hacían re complicado y en un solo paso lo esplicaste 💪💪💪💪

    3. theres no way you can do that knot that easy with say 20lb mono to fly line. easy to do with that line being used

    4. The other alternative is to make a double in the backing thats big enough to pass the spooled flyline through. You can then make a loop to loop connection and this method allows whole flylines to be changed in a minute or so, rather than having to worry about spare spools for the reel. This is actually what the loop is designed for.
