Leeds now has e-bikes! 🚲 The £2.8m ‘Beryl Bikes’ scheme has now launched in Leeds city centre… with 200 electric bikes now available to hire.

They’re mainly aimed at short journeys for now, but there are docking stations as far out at Headingley and Holbeck.

For single journeys it costs £1 to unlock the bikes, and a further 0.16p per minute – but there are monthly passes and other deals to reduce the cost.

It’s all part of Leeds City Council’s wider transport strategy to make Leeds a city where you don’t need a car, and has been funded by the West Yorkshire Combined Authority / Mayor of West Yorkshire.

Would you use one of these pedal-assisted e-bikes to get around town? 🚵
