Albania, a really surprising country. Bikepacking across Europe brought me to this country on my 10th week of cycling around the continent. I was so excited to experience a new culture, but as soon as I crossed the border I was shocked with the amount of trash that was present everywhere.
During my time cycling in Albania I got to see many places, from lake Shkodra, the town next to it, Tirana and also the coast. Everywhere I went I was impressed by the kindness of people, which made me feel very welcome.
Nevertheless, there was an omnipresent problem that was hard to ignore and it is a consequence of the difficult and not so far past of this balkan country.

In Tirana, I was lucky to stumble on a very nice and back/bike packing friendly hostel. You can meet there lots of travellers and people with interesting stories to tell. I am not sponsored, but I called this place my “home” for more than a week and I felt really good there, so I am linking their website here
