I’m turning 40 this year and it’s about time to set myself a challenge. I’ve raced the Megavalanche in Alpe d’Huez in 2015 and 2017, but back then i was younger, in better shape, had no kids and had way more time to train. I’ve certainly become a better bike handler in the past 9 years, but can the body still cope with 9 days of riding and racing at altitude?

Either way, staring small is the key. I’ve been trying to get in as many laps as i possibly can and using the e-bike as an uplift service, hoping that skill, more than raw power will get me down the hill faster when it comes to race day.

I’ll post videos on my training as well as from the mega week this june, so stay tuned!
