    MONTENEGRO: High is where it Happens | Cycling the World 11



    Bicycle Vlog 11: ‘To Montenegro’ – The last stretch of the Ciro Trail has a fruitful surprise for us in store. Once again we enter Croatia, this time very brief because Montenegro (Crna Gora) awaits us in all its natural splendour. We cross the strait at Kotor Bay and when we ask a man if we could camp in his garden we are welcomed with open arms. We wake up early, find a farewell gift, and go to cycle up the 16 hairpin turns of the Kotor Serpentine and beyond. Lake Skadar is one of the most beautiful places we have ever been! Amazing vistas all around. Albania (Shqipëria) lures in the distance and before the border we stop for the cycle tourists favourite beverage…

    To see, feel, smell, hear and taste everything the road has to offer will be so much different than watching a documentary or reading a book about it. Sometimes it will be difficult and most of the time fantastic. We hope you will find some inspiration in our video’s and maybe fuel your dreams as so many other have done for us.

      A great tip to go high up through Montenegro from our cycling buddies Robert & Lynn from Rolynaround.com ! What an amazing place it is with grand vistas all around and very nice people. Thanks Guys :.) Suggestions like this make it more easy to find the scenic routes. Has anybody got route ideas for our next stretch through Central Asia?

      Take your time guys as remember injury could stop it all, so take your time guys linger longer look further and rest of while for the traveller may never be this way again

      Damn!! Im a jealous? Yes and a tiny "bit" of no! Yes, because I am still wondering the beauty of our planet and your journey which is revealing all these wonders… A bit of "no" is because when Cynthia and I are goïng on a holiday, we experience probably a bit of the same feeling you both are experiencing! We also enjoy nature and culture even if we stay mostly in the same area (Crete as you know) but after "some" years there we still encounter new places and people. And also we are no lazy beach/sun worship holiday people! 🙂 But if I (we) was/were much younger and fitter I think, with your journey in mind, we'd probably love to do the same!! It must be fantastic to feel yourself a part of a bigger world and experience that nothing is what a lot of people think it is!! Until so far I've seen a lot of hospitable people and an amazing beautiful planet! Thanks again Maudi and Eric for letting us enjoy your tour too!!       wow just catching up with your journey, sad it got cut short. The climb from Kotor my favourite i have done in the world so far, great to see it again, I must reurn

      I drove down the Serpentine road a month ago.
      Whilst taking photos at the top before setting off a German man on a bike arrived having done the ascent.
      He asked me to take his photo, which I was pleased to do.
      Couldn't believe he'd made it up on a bike.
      But….his bike didn't have all his filming and camping gear,
      so I am even more impressed by you two.
