Doubling the number of kilometres cycled in Europe by 2030 is an ambitious target, and regions and cities will be right at the forefront of making this a reality. Promoting the use of bikes needs investment in better cycling infrastructure but also more incentives for citizens to use their bikes for safe, accessible and sustainable travel that is good for their health and for the environment. Getting this right could help create millions of jobs in everything from manufacturing and tourism to the retail, health and sports sector.
