Today (9 March) the Government has released a report that put forward a case for introducing new laws on causing death by dangerous and careless cycling.

Cycling UK says that these ‘new cycling laws would be a missed opportunity for a full review of all road traffic offences and penalties and that is needed first. It is something the Government promised back in 2014 but has yet to deliver’. Duncan Dollimore, Head of Campaigns at Cycling UK gave his full response in this video.

This speech was extremely clever lol
Cycling law needs a radical shake up . Majority of cyclists seem to ride with what they see as impunity. 1. Mandatory helmet ,other 2 wheeled vehicles have to use them .2. Over the age of 16 all cyclists must obtain a cycling proficiency licence. 3. Where provided all cyclists must use cycle lanes and paths no exceptions. 4. Over the age of 16 all cyclists must carry insurance. 5. When caught breaking road laws cyclists will be prosecuted or on the spot fined. Majority of cyclists are excellent riders but like vehicle users have those that are spoilers .
