Until deep into the night Vincent Keymer, Ding Liren and Daniel Fridman played for the match against Maxime Vachier-Lagrave for the third place in the finals! He won against the world champion Ding Liren twice. This tie-break was very nerve-racking for all players. A relieved Keymer gave us an interview on stage after his victory in the tie-breaks at the GRENKE Chess Classic 2024.
