In March 2024 I did the LONGEST TRAIN JOURNEY IN THE UK, all the way from Aberdeen in Scotland to Penzance in Cornwall, England. The LONGEST RAIL JOURNEY IN THE UK includes subtitles because the sound isn’t great due to the rumbling of the Crosscountry train. Cross Country trains are notoriously noisy! So please follow me on the LONGEST TRAIN RIDE IN THE UK, all the way from Aberdeen to Penzance, on the same train!

Something I want to do but those dreaded Voyagers are the worst trains for me.
Kirkgate station has been done up now so as its not too bad. 13 hours on a voyager is about 14 hours too long they are the worst trains still running.
I admire you spirit Bev. As a driver I absolutely hate travelling on voyagers. I would need to be anesthetised doing that journey.
voyagers 1st class stink. GREAT PRESENTAION. THANK YOU
Apologies for the typos on some of the subtitles 😖
Amazing work Bev. I tried doing this a few years ago and got as far as Exeter. Then because of the sea water coming over the wall at Dawlish on a stormy night, we had to disembark and get an HST to Penzance and I was 2 hours late getting into Penzance. Leeds is also my home station and I was so tempted to bail when I got there and not spend another 7 hours on a Voyager.
There should be an overnight sleeper on this route and the other way!
The voyagers have a film over the window that stop mobile network so if cross-country wifi not working you in trouble
There doesn't seem to be the equivalent single train journey (without changes) from Penzance to Aberdeen… ???? I wonder why? 🤔
