After the rain and grueling 33 miles of the first route this was a more pleasant 18 miles from Burton on Trent to Ashbourne and the gateway to the Peak District National Park. From Rolleston on Dove to The Quirky Shed at Hilton, on to Longford and the rollercoaster of hills around Shirley and Osmaston. This walk left behind the lowlands of the Midlands and took us to the foothills of the Penine Montains.
