I slept on the streets of Birmingham and I spoke to real homeless people to get more of an understanding of what it’s really like to sleep on the streets.

But what I went through was nothing compared to what they go through. The main struggles were with: the rain, the cold and a fear of what could happen.

Details about the video that I wanted to clarify: in the night scenes I put my main camera back in my car, because my phone was recording better footage at night. Also at Starbucks I meant camera not my phone (regarding being at 1 bar of battery).

    1. Another great video. Appreciate your passion for helping others. I'm a Case Manager here in the States supporting those homeless, specifically clients with a mental health diagnosis as well. As you know, just stopping to speak with someone on the streets can mean more to them at times then simply dropping money in their hat and walking by. It offers dignity, respect, and shows them they are not invisible and have something to contribute, if at the time nothing more than their thoughts. Thank you again.

    2. I have blurred the ladies face, not because she asked me to, but because I don't want anyone to be hateful towards her.

YouTubes blurring tool is far from perfect… I'm working on it : )

    3. Yet more poverty porn. Exploiting poor people for content is the lowest of the low. You treat them like a different breed while preaching like they're all the same. You show no real respect.

    4. I used to be homeless in the UK (due to modern slavery, not drugs) and to be honest with you, the majority of homeless people are just users and liars. They will give you a sob story so that you help them and then mock you once you have walked a way for falling for it. They have 0 aspirations and just want free stuff. Regular people don't realize that homelessness is a lifestyle choice for many. Yes there are some genuine people but when I was on the streets, I only met about 3 or 4 people who weren't on drugs and had just had bad luck. 99% of them are just taking advantage of people's kindness. If nobody gave money to beggars, there would be no more drug addicts on the streets. They don't need money for food as homeless people get all their meals for free. When I was homeless, I didn't beg once and had 3 hot meals a day + snacks to take away for later, all for free.

    5. Of course the woman was lying to you. Offer to buy her the tickets and she would have come up with some excuse. Your money went straight on drink or drugs for her. She could easily have hitched or hopped a train to get there

    6. I've subscribed cause Andy got balls coming Birmingham. If you went to train station with that woman and paid for a ticket she be pissed that money is going on a bag of gear. You should off stayed the night where the air conditioning was and the table was and put that down to sleep 💤😴 if car wizzed round and killed you your fault not there's
