Bamberg – the Little Italy in Germany! Witch Trials!

Bamberg is one of the most famous cities in Franconia in Germany. Around 30 minutes from Erlangen, this place is replete with architecture and is a good day trip in Bavaria, specially if you are living in Nuremberg or Munich. This place was the site of one of the biggest witch trials in Germany during the medieval ages, but is now a tourist hotspot with the twin rivers Regnitz and Main. The Main Donau canal that flows through Erlangen actually starts from Bamberg. Due to all its rivers and canals and bridges and boats, Bamberg is called Little Venice as well due to its Italian likeness. The people in Bamberg though go the other way round and instead refer to Rome as the Italian Bamberg – such is the stature of the place! We explore the town centre, delve into the history of the place, visit the Bamberg cathedral, the rose garden and then a visit to the Schloss Seehof – a beautiful palace in the outskirts of the city!
