    1. It was a team effort more than anything… MvdP sat on the wheel of the team in 10-15k before attacking meanwhile the team covered every attack which made the speed drop in peloton as MvdP went all out in 20-30k… Pedersen didn't have any help the last many k's and the other teams rode like amateurs…

    2. 50+ kph on cobbles…the speed for the last several years gets higher at such a rate it can't simply be explained by genetics, training or marginal gains. Starts to look like they're eating something we don't know about yet.

    3. My 2 observations:
      Trek needed Stuyven
Gianni Vermeersch could have been on the podium if he raced his own race – he had a crazy great day

    4. All these guys complaining about the race should go watch the Savannah Bananas or children's cartoons… embarce being a baby, it's fine!

    5. Really, really thrilling race up until MvdP went solo, actually. Then, not so much, but still massive respect to him. We are witnessing one of the greats

    6. It was a really good race. If in the roubaix u turn on tv last 50km its your own problem… I have no more words about the greatness of MVDP

    7. Man I love PR. race of the season for me. This edition was boring 🥲
No drama. Not enough big dogs. MVDP tempo training ride.
Hats off to Alpecin tho they absolutely dominated that race.

    8. Lol, we really live in this roman era, bread and games, everything has to be exciting, everyone must be entertained, it' s sport, this edition, one team was superior.but these days its called boring lol..just watch some exciting crap on one of your streaming services.much better

    9. I love watching generational talent. Over the next few short years it will come to a close. Who knows how long we will have to wait to see such heroics! 👍🏻🚴🏻‍♂️👍🏻

    10. MVDP= MJ.
No body remembers tdf stage wins. Deep deep fans might. But who one stage 14 2 years ago?? NObody knows. Who won PR in 17? GVA.
      It’s 8-1

    11. I'm with Benji, I was expecting a boring race but I still watched the whole thing because it's Roubaix. I was hoping MVDP would puncture or something though for a bit more excitement

    12. At 42.2 kms remaining it looks like a lady wearing a white sweater, striped shirt and sunglasses threw a white and blue cloth at MVDPs wheels. What an idiot.

    13. Good one, especially considering it was a race that was wrapped up 60k from the finish. To bring my 2 cents to the rant about the oldheads : first of, it pisses me off as well; secondly I think that it tells a lot about the psychology of some of the champions.

I think many of them are, their entire lives, trying to compensate for something, or fill some sort of hole in themselves that doesn't go away no matter how much they win. I think that it's a big factor behind the insatiable drive to win they have. The problem is, for some, once the show stops, they are deprived of that and don't know what to do with it. So they get bitter and franckly, I pity the relatives of these people because it must be tough being the wife or the child of a guy like that. Cristiano Ronaldo is a good example imo. Fortunately not all are like that.

    14. Benji you said a lot of times "I gotta be honest, to be honest, I'll be honest, let's be honest, etc." I know you're not a native speaker and your English is great but after I noticed it once I found it quite annoying. Other than that, loved the podcast. Thanks as always for the summary and analysis!

    15. MVDP going solo in white and rainbows through the grit and grime of Roubaix embodies the beauty of cycling. Deep, deep romantics in the sport can appreciate this.

    16. Big hype, boring race again. I don‘t know how they do it but Alpecin seems to have no bad luck at all. They must be leading by a big margin in who has the least punctures and crashes statistics. Has MvdP ever punctured in a monument?

    17. I mostly agree with your take on jealousy of the older generations, but you really did Boonen dirty… He's stated multiple times in the past that records are there to be broken, and that he really likes/respects the current generation of cycling.
The statement you are referring to clearly refers to pure victories, not monuments/classics. Not difficult if you compare the 40 race days of Boonen vs the 5 of VdP. AND it was just a statement of a change that occurred, not a criticism. Thought you guys would know not to just read the sensational titles… 😉

    18. Why the actual fook anyone would work for Alpecin (looking at you, Trek) is beyond me. Stupid, stupid, stupid move that completely sealed the race. Props to Robert Bengsch (German Eurosport) for calling it out (as "gutsy" 😂) immediately.

    19. I love MvdP, I ride a Canyon in part because of him (and Nairoman) and I believe he's a good dude. But damn does it seem like Alpecin has paid the peloton to forego on tactics.
