    2. Reminds me of the fatal crash of young Bjorn Lambrecht. He fell off the road onto a concrete bridge over a road side ditch. Jonas and everyone else is lucky to be alive.

    3. Looks like the peloton was just going too fast for that curve. Hard to tell since this video playback speed doesn't look normal. A sturdy fence to keep the riders out of the concrete ditch would have caused just as many injuries.

    4. There was an open ditch like that in my town. Two young boys got sucked in during a heavy rain. Washed downstream in a large storm sewer pipe for a couple miles. One lived, one didn't. No more wide open culverts here anymore. Steel bars cover them which would still be a major issue for bike racers.

    5. Why is everyone going on about Vingegaard’s broken clavicle when there were two riders with vertebral fractures and one with 2 collapsed lungs?

    6. So, one rider skids out at the end of the bend and goes off the track. Why do the other riders just drive straight off the track??? Why did they do that? There was nothing in their way. They just drove straight off the road! Crazy!

    9. I will put Jonas on my prayer list for a speedy recover and to get back on the saddle again soon. I was a weekend roadie for many years, doing 40 to 50 miles rides with friends. in one area, a few of us would reach speeds in the 45 mph range, knowing that going down at those speeds would not be a fun time. it's a long way down from the saddle of a road bike, something you don't realize until you take a fall! Get well soon, Jonas, road biking racing "packs" are very vulnerable to injury, all it takes is one error by one rider to start the tumbling…
