  1. Hallo lovely people, tomorrow will be a fantastic day for cycling and do a beer or whine on a tarras, it will be verry buzy on the cyclepaths. Groetjes en fijn weekend.

  2. I do understand why Tammy is prone to fall off her bike. It is coz she too short to put her feet on the ground when she stops. It takes quite some practise for to learn how to properly get off a bike. I am quite short myself too and never fell off my bike but I am Dutch, so that skill does come easy to me.

  3. In 1980 I was stationed in the Korporaal Van Oudheusdenkazerne (Corporal Van Oudheusden barracks) on the Noodweg next to Hilversum 'airport' to be trained as a combat medic for four months. It was at the height of the Cold War. After that initial training I was stationed in Wezep, one stop before Zwolle. One night some of the guys and I, all combat medics, had been drinking some beers in the center of Zwolle. On our way back, in the train that was still waiting in the station, there was this American GI who was obviously in a bad state. He was so drunk he was about to slip into a coma. We managed to get him of the train onto the platform where we kept him awake until the paramedics arrived. They took him to hospital because he probably was suffering from alcohol poisoning. He might have died if we hadn't found him.

  4. Dear friends, you can visit Naarden an old fortified town by bike. You know it is a special town if you look at a map : It shows the star form of the fortification! There are a few of these towns in the Netherlands! The historic part is even called Naarden-vesting ( vesting is Dutch for fortification)
It is about 10 km / 30 min by bike one way.

  5. I visted Hillversum on my last visit to Amstadam , found a nice fishmongers on the highstreet where i bought some kippling , freshest bit fish i have had , will visit again , i also visited a little town called Laren , you know theirs so many places to visit and see when on a vacation in Amstadam , showed me theirs a total different side to the place , my only regrets are that its taken me many years of visiting to actualy go and visited these other towns . Explore people !

  6. Enjoy your bikerides! If you want some recommendations: Lage Vuursche, a quaint little village in the forests between Hilversum and Baarn, and where is also Kasteel Drakesteyn, the current residence of our former queen. And another tip is of course Paleis Soestdijk, the Royal Palace where former Queen Beatrix was born and where her parents, Juliana and Bernard lived. Or Kasteel Groeneveld, a 18th century castle North-west of Baarn next to the road to Hilversum.

  7. What a great video!
Dont worry, the dutch childeren and adults are used to talk and cycel and improvice when it get busy busy.

Great that you visit Loosdrecht also.

And yes, we have a lot verborgen schatten! ( hidden treasures)
I look forward to the next video.

The local VVV, you probably know them, nows also allot.

  8. That was fun! Seeing my hometown on YouTube! Have you seen the Krentenbomen? Currant trees I guess, I don’t know. Anyways, they’re in bloom right now and it is pretty specific for ‘t Gooi. I’ve never seen so many krentenbomen in the rest of the Netherlands. They look a bit like white clouds from a distance. They’re especially to be found on the hei.

  9. One of the best things is to put two or three 3 year old or so in a bucket bike (bakfiets), electrical pedal assist of course, ramp up to 25 kmh and go 'oooooOOOOO, WHEEEEEEEeeeeeeeee' on the speed bumps together. Maybe even better is to do so wearing those leather aviator helmets with matching glasses, possibly after fixing some foam winglets and a propellor to the tub.

Google 'Posbank' and go for pictures, btw. I cycled up the posbank once hoping to find a shortcut with little hills, which is a horrible mistake. On the plus, I saw the Posbank. I did the same with the Amerongse berg, at the end of a 160 km bike trip with 20 kg of luggage, which is also a horrible mistake.

  10. Hello Tammy and Eric, nice to see you enjoy your bicycle tours in Hilversum and surroundings. In s’Gravenland you should go to the meetingcentre of Natuurmonumenten; nice exhibition and lovely people who can tell something about the so called “landgoederen” and the history of the landscape and his former owners. If you want to know more, ask me. Inhabitant of Hilversum.

  11. Lage Vuursche where the former Queen lives and her son is buried, nice to visit with your bikes, abeautiful trip through the forrest. And another time to Slot zeist

  12. Hilversum is in a very beautiful spot, for certain! It's also very nice that you can get nearly everywhere on your bike, including to the most remote areas of the city. That's what I love most about our country ❤

  13. Great video….sooo happy you started cycling. You will see a whole new world will open for you. It feels so so good being able to go on your bike and explore and enjoy the fresh air special now spring is coming up.

  14. A bike in the city or village is faster too come around. I like the videos a lot. Whe have a car for family visits, otherwise a bike takes us 4 minutes to go a shop, a car 10 with no parkingspace insight. Tip: A trip around the Ijsselmeer when you more relaxed with your bike, it takes a few days, 6 or 7 with luggage transport, but you will see a lot.

  15. On the coming sunny days, there will be a lady called 'Dorien' with her 'Ijsbrommer' at the junction between Corverslaan and 's Gravelandseweg selling her artisinally made ice-cream, and it is delicious and lovely to have a break there during a bikeride. Then follow the 'oude meentweg' and you will find a wonderful sculpture garden to the left. Then when you follow the 'oude meentweg' further, and keep on going till you hit the gravel road, and ride on till you see a steel fence that is always open to pass with your bicycle you can cross a very lovely place called 'Boekesteyn' and you can ride all they way through on the designated bike paths, have a look around at the little pond, there are giant benches there that will make you feel like a dwarf. Also check out the Ankeveense plassen one day, and ride to the little beaches around the Spiegel Plas. You will see some very old Dutch landscaping there and really lovely nature around with lots of water and a very nice bike path over super cute bike bridges. Also consider renting a boat and explore the 'Loosdrechtse plassen' especially during busy summer days, there are some tiny islands you can dock with beaches with almost nobody there and there are some with a tiny snackbar on there. Oh I could go on and on. Wouldn't mind to guide you around once… You guys practically live around the corner now…. 😊

  16. Oh guys! I'm getting more and more excited about your videos. We also like to ride our bikes and visit Corversbos and 's Graveland. When you were cycling along the main street in 's Graveland I said to my wife, "they are close now to Trompenburg!" Just a second later indeed Trompenburg came into view. Our daughter lives in Loosdrecht, which you also visited recently. Come to say, take a bike trip up north and visit our beautiful town of Naarden

  17. I hope you know that it is not allowed to hold a phone or other personal electronic device (camera, gopro) in your hands while biking (just like when driving a car).
So when you want to make videos you will have to attach your camera to your bike or your body, not hold it in front of you.
When you do, and a policeman sees it, you should be prepared to get a fine of 160 euro (in a car it is 420 euro!). They normally will not just issue warnings for this.

  18. Corversbos was my daily route to school, oh so many years ago.
And you caught the school run at Schuttersweg I see 😀
@7:00 thereabouts – that neighbourhood is called het Rode Dorp.
There should be a memorial for a WW2 Lancaster that exploded on May 13th 1943 over that area, but I haven't found it so far.

  19. Wooow, what a great video again! Hilversum has beautiful surroundings. I live in Utrecht and I regularly take my bike with me on the train to Hilversum (for a few euros) and then cycle back to Utrecht (or vice versa, depending on the wind 😀). More than an hour of cycling, but what wonderful surroundings you encounter. Take a break for lunch or a beer along the way. Awesome! and don't forget the Hoorneboegse heath, the Bussumerheide, the Westerheide and the Zuiderheide. With thousands of years old traces of human use of the landscape, such as burial mounds in sight and cart tracks.
