Back in February I travelled the Electric Way between Bradford and Leeds via Shipley, this time it via the Diesel way between Bradford Interchange and Leeds but also stopping off at two Station, New Pudsey and Bramley (West Yorkshire)… Not Hampshire

The units in this video are mainly Class 195 and Class 158 DMUs with the odd Class 150 appearing but on the way back from Leeds, I decided to give it a go and time a Class 158 to see if it can do a journey less than 20 minutes between Leeds and Bradford.

    1. I know the Blackpool North 195's get to Leeds the fastest as they don't stop at Bramley station which is a bit quicker. The rest do stop at Bramley as well from my knowledge.

I reckon you can get a 158 from Bradford Interchange to Leeds in less than 20 minutes.

    2. Great video, Simon. There used to be another Bramley station – in Surrey! It was on the Guildford to Christ’s Hospital line which closed in 1965.

    3. There were quite a few stations on this line. The 1st out of Bradford was St Dunstans, which was mainly used as an interchange between the line to Leeds & the line to Halifax/Keighley via Queensbury, Laisterdyke, once a busy junction station, Armley Moor, Holbeck & finally Leeds Central where all services on the Great Northern railway network used to terminate before that station was closed in 1967. I've enjoyed watching Simon, thank you for sharing.

    4. I suppose that a Northern Class 158 Sprinter Express can take you to Bradford in under 20 minutes if there isn’t any delays or disruption.

Northern should still get more new trains if they were to replace the older trains including the Class 150, Class 155, Class 156 and Class 158.
