    1. This is when the police wastes public money on activities that do not improve, but actually degrade road safety. So shameful. Poor cyclist only assumed the cops have basic common sense.

    2. About time too. As a cyclist it pisses me off when cyclists run the red, dodging through pedestrians like a bike versus pedestrian isn't going to be a one way street. As much as I don't want a massive number plate strapped to the back of my bike it's about time cyclists (like me) were held accountable for their manner of riding. If they can do remote ID for drones they can do it for bikes….

    3. Typical coppers then, a cyclist who isnt surrounded by a cage of metal crosses a junction while preserving his own safety yet they deem it responsible to make pedestrians clear out of the way when theyre half way across what i guess would be a busy junction were the lights on green.

    4. Let's delve deeper into the precarious realm of red light violations, where not only motor vehicles but also cyclists and pedestrians engage in a dangerous pas de deux with traffic signals. These audacious individuals, seemingly impervious to the crimson warnings, brazenly defy the rules of the road.

*Cyclists*, clad in their streamlined helmets and pedal-powered steeds, often treat red lights as mere suggestions. With a nonchalant disregard for the orderly progression of traffic, they weave through intersections, their wheels spinning in defiance. Their rationale, perhaps, lies in the belief that their nimble frames grant them immunity from the consequences that befall their four-wheeled counterparts. Yet, in this ballet of recklessness, they jeopardize their own safety and that of others—pedestrians, motorists, and fellow cyclists alike.

And then there are the *pedestrians*, those bipedal wanderers who traverse the asphalt stage with a carefree abandon. Clutching smartphones, umbrellas, or coffee cups, they step off curbs without a second thought, their eyes fixed on screens or lost in contemplation. The pedestrian crossing, once a sanctuary, now becomes a mere suggestion. They dart across lanes, heedless of the traffic light's solemn glow, their pace unyielding. Perhaps they believe that their vulnerability—stripped of metal and horsepower—renders them immune to the laws of physics. But the asphalt does not discriminate; it bruises knees and scrapes elbows with equal impartiality.

In this grand choreography of disobedience, the red light runners—whether on two wheels or two feet—disrupt the symphony of order. Their actions ripple through the urban landscape, creating dissonance and endangering lives. It is incumbent upon us, as stewards of safety, to advocate for greater awareness, education, and enforcement. Let us champion a harmonious coexistence on our thoroughfares, where red lights are not mere suggestions but steadfast guardians of our collective well-being. 🚦🚴‍♂️🚶‍♀️🚗

    5. finally. i cycle through dodgy areas and i'm just tired of other cyclists going through reds. it doesn't help with the driver's views of cyclists at all, as well as making me mad and risking people's lives.

    6. This is why nobody takes cyclists seriously, they have no regard for traffic rules and for the most part are total Knobends

    7. So they pulled him up , , , , then what happens, endorsements? – court appearance? Licence points?
‘Really is time they were made properly accountable!

    8. When driving in Dublin in the 80s, I was told – by a driving instructor (I was not learning) – that a red light means the bulb is working, and for stop signs, ach you only need to stop if there's someone coming. Coming from living in Germany, it was a shock to the system. At least something is being done about it in London, but from my observations, it's cars almost as often as it's cyclists.

    9. Unfortunately its to late for this to have any effect on how cyclists ride, IE riding through a red light. It happens every day, everywhere.

    10. A red traffic signal means stop. Its a simple rule designed to keep all other drivers/riders and pedestrians safe. This only becomes useless if morons think they are to important to abide by the rules of the road. Stop being an arse and behave your self in society.

    11. This happens in Aberdeen all the time especially all the imigrants on there EV bikes working for JUST EAT and DELIVEROO they drive up 1 way streets and go through red lights all the time and the Police dont give a F

    12. It's about time, some of those cyclists are a law unto themselves, after all rules are rules and are there for everyone's safety, what would have happened if a car, van or worse yet a truck hit him, take care on those roads please

    13. Double whammy there. Bust a red light and do it right in front of a police vehicle. Shows that he does it all the time without thinking.
