This video shows the highlights from my 2020 cycle tour covering the Pirinexus Route; starting in Girona, Spain. 3 days of cycling. An incredible circular route that takes you up into the Pyrenees Mountain range. Starting in Girona, into France then back into Spain.Through beautiful villages. Stunning Scenery. Over 300km and the road is all yours! My best bits were the traffic free routes from Girona to Olot, all flat and the most beautiful landscapes. The climb out of Olot was very tough but it was worth it for the flight down into Sant Joan de les Abadesses. Spending the night in the lovely Camprodon. Climbing up the Col D’Ares (1600m) the next day! Would have been amazing flying down that if not for the freezing cold. Prats-de-Mollo to Ceret was an absolute dream ride, all downhill pretty much! Another big climb up to the Spanish border following the official route, then a monster ride down the Pyrenees to La Jonquera, smooth sailing after that, easy flat countryside riding and a bit of seaside too. World Class Cycling all round! ***I took a knock off go-pro with me hoping to attach it to the bike to capture all the downhills, the turbo descents! The fitting would not fit on the bicycle frame though, so this video isn’t really as I planned it and not as good as I was hoping before setting off so the video doesn’t show the real best bets, which is absolutely gliding down from the top of mountains getting some unreal speeds!***

Great video! Thanks for sharing. Curious why you decided to ride toward Olot from Girona instead of riding the seaside first? Also, were you doing any camping on the trip? I am curious about those opportunities as I will also be riding this route.
Many thanks for posting this, it was very useful for our tour last week (should have been in Spring 2020 but ….). A couple of updates; you can now legitimately avoid your section with the electric fence behind Sant Joan as there's now some new sections up to Camprodon either side of the N260 / C-38. Across by the sea there are huge roadworks in Palafrugell which may last most of 2023 and there is a badly signed diversion. It was kind of you to underplay the route down into La Jonquera.
