For andri Coast stage 3 I got to make sure I get them right because they’re on they’re on different orders par could have been the biggest GC stage today it was maybe the hardest stage in the race and maybe even given the weather conditions around the traps it it will

Be that because there’s snow and weather predicted this weekend that was sort of the early news was that uh that there’s like 70 CM or like whatever cenm of snow predicted predicted for the weekend up at, 1600 M so the Aon stage stage seven the mountain toop finish that looks uh

I’d be very surprised if it happens and then in n on on stage eight there could be flooding uh on the stage eight as well so this could end up being like the Tano adriatico vanav one Benji oh that’s a memory and also wasn’t there also like

A super rainy Pia that Willams ended up winning because some stages got cancelled they there’s been a few of those but this could indeed be that or reminiscent of the last few stage of the to ofrs that B all ended up winning even though that had at least 19 stages that

Were fully written if I recall correctly but anyway about this specific race you’re right and that puts so much on this stage where I’m like if you Remco before this stage and you see that news you even attacked then well he’s not in the yellow Jersey

Is he well I I know against UAE has but I mean you’re right you’re right you’re right versus R uh well yeah rog’s got to go if he wants to win he’s got to go I mean if you if they basically new to the mountain top finish and then they do

Like one rep on one local lap on stage eight you’re not going to take a minute if you want to win the race so it is really I I thought last night I already did a big rant about I wanted to see a raid today Benji and then when the

Weather news came out I was like this is now a no-brainer no if you want to win the race yeah you you have to try something today it would Vima with Jorgenson RIT with Bora renco with quick with Quick Step and UA just they don’t they don’t have to do anything and in

Addition to that you got to keep in mind that U is going to have to choose between three and a half leaders for who’s going to Pace first and who’s going to Pace next when it comes to Dom myque work if someone goes early then we

Look at other teams and I’m looking at Quick Step where I’m F Wilder is an okay Dom fvac is an K on myque but I also feel like that’s that quick steps team is the is still not the the super team when it comes to controlling any attacks

On earlier CLS then when it comes to Bora plazo is a co-leader on paper so will he put himself in the in the works for rage so there’s so many teams that have limited domestiques or or aren’t this it it’s not a it’s not a yumbo Vima

Turron super team or UAE super team from the Tour of France with one leader in pachard at Philly rides for and so forth so that’s also why I think attacks would have been an interesting idea and let’s get into the stage before we jump to that though because profile profile you

Can do that first us uh it is finishing on Mor they have basically eight or nine major climbs throughout the race all category 2os except for the K fuana leap which is the second last climb they’re all around 3 to 5Ks 6 to 7% C Derby is

The exception 9% 2.3 km it’s an immediate Sprint on a little 13300 M 5% kicker which is the third last climb and then it go straight into that longer 5K 7% climb descent uh then into M bre 3K 7.7% they’ve already done a lap of it about a

7 minute climb A8 minute climb give or take 184k is really hard stage 3500 meters of climbing up and down all day rainy conditions uh it’s a hard stage and there’s early climbs to form a good break too and the breakway that did form wasn’t necessarily the the seven man

Eight man breakway there some good riders in there like scaron is a good Rider in my opinion on Asana the B not necessar the the rider you would want to have in this stage in the breakway I think if you well the Le was out of this

Race so they had to try something I guess on every stage to when breakaways but he’s not going to move the needle here Biser as well not feeling like he’s going to move the needle in a breakway Bodo only there for the km points and that’s what he does takes km points and

Those three get dropped by sconi because he’s eventually just the best climber so that’s a story of the Breakaway with 35 km to go scaroni is phito he’s been caught by the pellaton and during this time we’ve seen Bora control the Gap to the Breakaway because they see the stage

As something they can maybe do something on or a stage as okay this is a ro glitch kind of finish and every now and then I feel like there was a moment where Ben Turner was pulling the pellaton on it might have been the first M bre the one before

We get to the uh C F and it seems that inel maybe dare try to make the race a little bit harder by doing that but I don’t think that necessarily moved much of the needle either because I feel like The Descent of that bre was more impactful than the actual

Climbing segment where there was a small split a des with G was behind they had to try try and get back to the favorites Group which was being led by Bora and that was in a running towards an intermediate Sprint and this is not one of those flat intermediate Sprints as

Like a a proper climbing section towards it which made it a lot harder for pison to play a role here because I’m trying to figure out here is Peterson competing in the intermediate Sprint against Remco against Roga and so for for his green jersey or to take away seconds for skel

M uh based on the other day I think still to take seconds away for schel mosa because he he was meant to break more and it doesn’t work out because probably because of the Hill that came before that intermediate Sprint because he finishes third in that

Yes he he might take away bonus seconds from some other people but not from Remco and not from Roga because that’s the six seconds I think for Remco and four4 Roga or is it 3 to1 in arines 642 yeah I thought so so that’s the story there and jurgenson was also fighting

For these intermediate Sprint points and or seconds at least and there’s this moment where I’ve asked myself this quite a few times in the last like few years what happens after an intermediate Sprint what happens after a bonus second Sprint every now and then we see them

Looking at each other this time it seems like jensson wanted to keep it going Remco then decided after looking behind a bit and analyzing the situation I’m also going to ride with Jorgenson and then rogich pull through eventually as well but there was always this waiting period right between the Riders pulling

This is where the everyone everyone lost me today they lost me I couldn’t have listed a plan out of visma Bora inos Quick Step I couldn’t figure it out you’re going to pull all day Rish one minute back takes four bonies I think four bonies then gets in

A group no UAE Sol’s dropped gr sh’s dropped poet’s dropped uh and Vol was at the back and then and re bear in mind on stage one Remco wants to pull through with seven guys on a Sprint stage yeah and then doesn’t pull here after the intermediate and Rish doesn’t really

Pull okay P doesn’t have to pull I think Jor pulled like once or twice yeah it’s like I was like are you serious you have plat behind like you you know you have to take the time somewhere and also they Bora made the stage hard all day they’re

Running out of domestiques I don’t know why when the break was caught already jungles is driving it full I was like to catch who on the like what are you doing and it felt like they were all like looking at each other a bit too long

Before deciding to do one pool and after that one pool each they decided oh let’s not do it and then the group came back which it’s really unfortunate because you’re right this is an opportunity to keep going because there’s no uee riders in the group but I think the fear of the

Next couple of climbs got into them which it was a big p on behind I accept that but suddenly four people start rolling through what then then Harper has there is Harper to pull yeah play har to pull for JA but then they have to sacrifice him there’s Vine to pull for

UAE and inos were pulling as well with FR because Bernard didn’t really contest the Burnie Sprint or wasn’t able to um so there that is the other side of it like you’re going to have to then ride against other Doms who are bringing guys back and fr seemed like he was going off

The front while that was still getting CAU back and then it was up to UAE already so I don’t know I would have liked to see it going to just to see what happens but it’s not the end of the that they didn’t I guess because they

Had still had an opportunity on the next climb to maybe go for an earlier raate than the last climb so we get to that so just but there in that moment UA must have been laughing they must happy yeah well they they spend a little bit of energy to

Close down a group that self neutralized themselves so I think they will be happy with that situation and we get to that called f it’s a longer climb but I feel like there’s this moment on the climb that we go to on on to a steeper segment

After a after a 90° corner and that’s where it kind of kicked off between brackets as in a mini kicked off because Pak is leading the group Flaps in second wheel they turn onto that corner and Paka and pl just right off fa pla is uh leading GC if you take

Away the four UAE Riders yeah like plaps on 15 seconds so he’s leading like he’s up there on GC and stages could be canceled on the weekend as a reminder and um yeah it was strange like either he pulled too strong or someone lost the wheel but this is where yeah Quick Step

Kind of [ __ ] up the stage like I thought even frankly I thought this was going to be a Remco like Hill Classic Stage and I thought he was going to launch on this uh possibly on this climb because it it even the last kilometer of

Its n .4% and really kicks up uh really suits him for that Sprint over the top and it’s it’s something I’ve repeated a few times but I feel like GC Remco is different from one day Remco GC Remco and Mountain stages hit he turns into the the rider that all the other GC

Riders are as in most of them are kind of defensive trying to figure that out instead of using what he uses to win those one day races I agree as in if he attacks on fuava and let’s say he gets a gap hypothetically he gets a gap aren’t

We literally having an lbl situation where it’s him versus a group with limited domastic trying to chase him down and even with domestics he’s beaten them in the past so it’s like he doesn’t want to take that risk in a stage race well here’s the hypothetical if this is a one-day

Race does he ride want to ride to the Finish to have a a Sprint from a group of 20 against RIT and skelm MOA absolutely not no no would he ride a one day race that way so there’s the proof or maybe that wasn’t the plan Benji and

Maybe the plan was to go on this climb and then the Gap with vaka Thea gets the call on the radio stops flap’s now got like a 15sec gap for free quote unquote whilst the Pelon didn’t chase behind and I think he makes a really good decision here I mean not not just

In hindsight but at the time first of all he’s not as explosive as the other GC Riders so he’ll probably get gapped on the Finish if he’s in that group he’s more of a Time trialist secondly his descending is not that good at world to level um that’s the reality and to do

The Descent Solo in front in a group of one or two I think is much better for him and then also I think he can really pull on the flat the false flat downhill really really hard before M breu so it’s it’s a really good move for PL he goes

On with it and then no one jumps this guy he’s now leading GC virtually on the climb uh and maybe I understand like he’s not an anyos jerse anymore Jacob maybe gets more leeway and you know hasn’t done as much in World Tour GC races but in Europe I surprised no one

Apart from Santi jumps because yeah bro goes across to him other teams Benji have cards to play who are not who are within a minute on GC yeah looking at Bora for example they end up starting to P Behind These Guys where I think it was

Soo at this point on the climb well they have vazov and maybe vazov just wasn’t good enough to do that but I would have expected vof to maybe be the guy that could make that move to put pressure on the other teams and then RIT is in the

Seed behind them but it felt like they were playing the the traditional strategy of just keeping all the Riders around the leader and then seeing where that gets them and I don’t know I would have liked seeing vazov jump with brago and so for and seeing that scenario build up

Kman exactly so rguez or Bernal probably Rodriguez yeah probably Rodriguez other teams got got options and again UA are laughing well not laughing but B are pacing steadily and they get to sit in the group and they’ve not been attacked yet one y Rider that wasn’t laughing was finisher black who

Ended up dropping on this climb and I think this was also the moment where in the group was a bit of an odd crash as in goodu was taking out his jacket and it looked like while doing so on like a 13% section it it like straight up

Swashed into his wheel and he crashes and it leads to Oran Panter and Felix Gull of the other French team crashing as well so those three Riders are now behind as a consequence of that kind of silly crash it’s really unfortunate to see that happen at this point because

That takes away GS chances and G’s chances to really fight for it on this stage to be honest and G after this was he was done for like yeah either physically or mentally done yeah because he had issues following paser after this is what seemed to be the case to me and

We get to the top Bora keeps pacing and at the top vazov and Ritch are isolated so they don’t have the domestics anymore going into the descend Vine takes over in that descend and were you surprised to see Vine at the front well no you you got to have

Somebody like they got to have someone chasing and no one else is is pacing and you’ve got and I think the gap with 15 17 seconds at this point not out of hand vine on the on the Descent it’s a long descent too uh he keeps it stable you’ve

Got Al uh Jorgenson moves into second wheel R Go’s leaving a big gap every corner on The Descent every corner and I think they get to the bottom the situation hasn’t changed we still got a pretty big GC group with all the hitters there go as a r vof kman Jorgenson

Everybody AAP Paul vaner Rodriguez Bernal multiple team multiple teammates get to the base and Vine just pulls up stumps he wasn’t finished Benji he just pulls up stumps at the base of the Descent and I I kind of like it as in my work is done I’m out no it

It was you guys chase inos you have five Riders yes and in addition to that he had a bit of a wobbly moment I think at the foot of MB where he was near the front of the group he ends up being behind that inos red at a space at that

Moment in R moves to the right while Vine looks to be looking behind him going into a little uh what do you call that speed bump yes speed bump thingy and at that point he like nearly crashed so lucky that he he stayed on the bike and they dropping not long after but

We’re heading into the mbrea climb and the you think inos were right for were you surprised that they a paced and B that when they did Pace the Gap like didn’t change when Castro and the PLO were pulling firstly at just point I don’t really care if are spacing or not

Because what are these Dom is going to do otherwise like they’re there you might as well use them is is the thing in my head cuz otherwise you’re not fighting for the stage anyway and yes they’re taking away work from UAE that UAE might have to choose a leader to do

That but at that point U is left with like they their two riders that are at the top of GC so you might as well start facing with inel because that’s likely that’s unlikely to expose an inel a UAE leader at that point secondly was I surprised that they were losing time I

Don’t know I feel like is it me or these are not the the DSes that are going to take time on PL on this segment in my head so that didn’t necessarily shock me but also when it comes to Bago being at the front the Gap also kept going up

So there’s no way they were soft bacing at that point in my head so they were trying to close that gap down towards M brui and yeah I was kind of surprised that the Gap was maybe extending so significantly as in if it went up like

One or two seconds 3 seconds fine but it went up to like 40 48 seconds at a certain point But at the foot it was 40 seconds if I recall yeah still a big gap against two good Riders and San’s good on these sort of climbs the guy Podium

Le on a seven minute climb 3K 7 and a half% yeah and his tactics were on point even though me as a a famous uh luk PL was never winning this stage never ever well I can Fanboy my friend I can Fanboy it’s unlikely that he’s going to

Win the stage and it became more unlikely when Bago stayed in his wheel for the first portion because he was like I’ll take the stage you’re in the virtual lead do it yeah Santi was always going to be like nah you’re heading on GC you ride for the yellow Jersey I’m

Going to I’m going to ride I want that stage win and if I up some GC positions into the top 10 I’ll take it as well so and also he’s more explosive um and but and you could tell pla almost knew it was coming Benji cuz Santi hits him

Probably goes to 7 wats per kilo or over 400 wats 10 15 seconds PL basically doesn’t react and you think oh is he is he [ __ ] but then the whole rest of the climb they basically do the climb the same speed him and Santi uh so he was

Clearly just run to because he’s got such a big gap now yeah he can play for GC positions and um back in the GC group Benji they it’s being ped by Van Wilder vlasov started at the bottom but he was kind of cooked already and it was really

Van Wilder for a long long long time and he didn’t gain any time on PL let alone brago the Gap went up the Gap went to like 42 45 from memory just about and eventually we see an attack from Remco uh maybe I don’t know 500 met to go or

Something in the corners in the in the forest I think I think it was a bit earlier it was 500 at the Top If I recall correctly but that was for the break at that point so I reckon it was about 800 900 met but I feel like that

First attack just wasn’t very hard that first attack it it exposed the people that were supposed to drop at that point but when it comes to the actual opposing leaders like you’d expect a r to follow Jorgenson skelos UAE leader and so forth and that was the case I think almea was

Was doing his thingy again cuz I didn’t necessarily see him in those first six both him and mnal were like struggling and the second attack was where it it looked a bit more Fierce no yeah the second attack he really gave it some and I think he

Was well he he probably would have been expecting rogl right like this is a r stage Bora have ridden all day and Rit is deep and he’s not like remember Cataluna Benji last year on this sort of stage yeah Ro is like glued to remco’s wheel yeah but he’s behind there’s

There’s skelos goes will then there’s go and Jorgenson and then Bernard RIT RIT is like not moving up quickly go looks really really good he’s moving up on the inside I think he had a dig in between remco’s two moves if you didn’t mention that and Remco Remco goes again uh alme

Is on a gap this time stays on a gap and basically they Sprint it out for the oh sorry Santi goes clear wins the stage I not that goes without saying pla in second on 10 seconds and then rco does does a long lead out and Sh Mo just

Comes over the top of him at the end for four bonies so Remco misses out on four bonus seconds Bernal then on a two second Gap in a group of go rogl and Jorgenson uh tahara on another 4se second Gap so 6 seconds behind skelo Remco on 43 seconds he looks very good

And EST did a really good TT yesterday um for the the team they had mcnalty and Kerman on a 9sec gap and then Almeida on a 11 second Gap then there’s uran AP Rodriguez on 59 on I don’t know like 20 seconds vlasov loses can I count 30 seconds 32 seconds to the

Rcoo a group so um he’s kind of out of GC completely now this is after AP saved GS live also on the on the previous climb where he came back on the food after that little little scour uh crash with gou gou is like Shadow realm 6

Minutes yeah and go got gapped on The Descent by jungles before the intermediate Sprint I swear something happened the same thing in the tour to France last year stage 14 when uh vanat was in the front and there was a split with Yates and go behind before zla yeah

Correct could be wrong I could be wrong I think you’re right though so goal yeah just that was position though Lessons Learned of the stage first of all is it weird for me to say that Primos RIT on Yambo Vima wins the stage um I don’t think it’s a guarantee

Primos Rish lost uphill Sprints to Rav up here next to my house last year in Thea and he lost to Chone that’s that side of my house in Catalonia on Val yeah oh no not Val or yeah might been Val so but he ain’t getting gapped like that

That’s what you mean it’s like he he wasn’t even he did it’s not like I think in in those catalunia States for example he threw in a dig and then Jak just nailed him just nailed him on Val here he’s like clinging on for dear life and

Being put on a gap is it possible that he’s losing time in the positioning towards the hills because I felt like every single Hill that started and every single segment where you want to be at the front he was not at the front and then he’d have to move up a little bit

After that and I think that’s one factor that was a problem on these yeah yeah but not on not on these climbs yeah true true true like it was a problem in like sun or something but not on a climb in in par or something then

He’d be at the front with a proper vimma train in front of him and Yambo vimma train back then but like Bora was isolated with just vazov and him for the final clown which they kind of did themselves well that’s why I couldn’t really figure out what the

What the plan was uh I think he’ll be ruing it even as well as quickstep because y you’ve got well actually Luke just mentioned in the chat on to your point Benji if he was on Vima then PLA and brago don’t just go up the road like that fair point

Because you they keep the bonies in play with kman pacing or somebody like that um but quickstep also be ruing M Miss bonies and a m stageing opportunity for Remco it’s like we said like I still think Remco like he should have at least come

Second in the stage like May and I I think when you look at where skel mosa was was on other climbs the way this stage played out was perfect for schel mosa yep for basically not it wasn’t slow listen I know it’s not slow but it

Was for the M bruy the final M bruy with the wave on Wilder pce it wasn’t really rapid like they can do it with other Riders and I also think the way the stage played out didn’t suit Jorgenson at all it ended up being a 500 met

Uphill Sprint against skelo RIT and and AO not his Forte and I think a hill classic in the rain like this he would have been better off in a in a different like PL style uh but the reality is I think if a Viara jumps there um he

Doesn’t get the leeway PL does but you don’t know fortune favors the Braves so I think big congrats to Bahrain and pl maybe that wasn’t the plan for PL to get 15 free seconds from VV but um he went on with it and and Santi I love Santi I listen to his pre-race

Interview this morning I knew try something he was like yeah I’m looking for an opportunity um yeah comparing that to the Remco PR interview that I heard on on Sports yesterday where where the interview was like what was a plan for he was like there’s no

Plan and well I I think I think that’s like a sometimes a bad attitude the teams have is like UA is in the lead so UA solve it all even though you should be trying to achieve something on this stage with the parkour that suits your

Riders uh yeah his take was basically um shouldn’t you be taking any time on UAE is what the interviewer asked and he was like I think that’s going to happen automatically as a stage continues Riders will drop okay that that is true they did drop at the end but I’m telling you with

The they have today the way the stage played out I made mity they they should they should go back to the bus today and all those UAE guys should be smiling they should be smiling because the weekend stages listen if they get canceled and they get they get killed in

The weekend stages it doesn’t matter but I’ll remind you I’ll made a last year in parin or a mcnalty the other year in parin 2022 they were really bad in the earlier stages and then on the long climb called to torini uh where it was Martinez and Rit they were good they

Were really good and they held on well there so doesn’t doesn’t mean they’re going to be bad on the later stages but those stages might also be canceled and here’s the revised GC we’ve got Luke PL bang first look at that off inos onto jaula into the GC lead unliking that

We’re keeping it in antipa hands three different antip ofans in a row thanks very much clean sound of sand still saying it um I don’t know maybe maybe not uh Santi in second on 13 seconds mcnalty and alme on 2729 Remco moves up three spots into fifth on 30 seconds but now

He is right to sense Benji rco is his one bonus Sprint away from being ahead of Al mcnalty so yeah he he really doesn’t have to do too much but now they got to get rid of Santi and pl at some point Bernal looked really really good

In sixth on 40 seconds Harper in seventh on 46 seconds Jorgenson on 52 seconds uh so he was stronger than Harper Almeida and mcnalty today and that but they still ahead of him uran on in ninth on 54 seconds and cod on 102 gold moves up 13 spots also

On 102 so uh wow where did Van wi to finish this stage oh he did time so yeah vov on 148 where also didn’t look like he was flying anymore when was doing the pacing for Remco on that climb but I will say for quickstep strategy today it’s really

All about that one move on fud DAV right if Paka doesn’t accidentally launch plab then Bago doesn’t get that that bridge to that that Rider to bridge towards and that Rider that can ride with him off the that climb meter and if it’s just the group behind that goes to line

Without that group ahead then I’d argue this was a relatively perfect stage being only 3 seconds behind and even though ideally you would want more ideally you would want to be above them knowing the stages disappear potentially so Luke just told me that amatti Peli on Twitter said that Santi

Did De climb today M Bru the last 2.5k at the same speed one second slower than the Bernard gold rogl Jenson group and 3 seconds slower than schel mza aaple so basically Santi took a lot of time that when he kicked away from PL uh he was

Very strong and I don’t think you should just think okay maybe the longer CL whatever don’t be so you’re going to drop the Le B on Le Podium finisher on stage eight that you’re going to drop him or he w’t come back by R good GC

Team so and also it’s it’s 30 seconds for Ru it’s 27 seconds for which that’s quite a bit of timing it’s not like it’s going to be simp to do that that’s why it’s a problem what this Happ if okay I can be like they should have done a raid

Why don’t they do this it’s a PlayStation game I understand like okay it’s not realistic sometimes be that would be fine most of the time of it is yeah that would be fine if Santi and pl didn’t just take all that time cuz yeah if Remco was sitting 3 seconds behind

The UAE guys who he just dropped with a Sprint today he is sitting pretty and he doesn’t have to do anything but now you got a problem you got to solve later on um maybe Santi just drops later maybe PL does but they won’t [ __ ] on uh on uh M

Breu at all they wrode that like proper GC contenders uh anything else from this stage Benji oh RIT he’s on 110 in GC what what has he got to do I don’t know man like he didn’t look that impressive today being gapped on that climb that shouldn’t happen so is

It too early to say that it’s Primm over for this spines uh it’s going to be difficult it’s going to be difficult yeah I fear so as well that’s that’s all to be honest about this stage okay tomorrow stage stage five from De monu to sisteron 195 km

Long long stage could be raining it’s like medium Mountain but like long false life drags uh there’s a bonus Sprint at the top of 1K 6% uh where they go just after the finish line and they come back around and finish on the flat yeah kind of looks like a Sprint stage but

To me this is the Andrea Andrea boli against four French Riders vmos Breakaway stage right but is going to be in the break for km that’s that’s for sure yeah so your chance of having Jordan in there is is limited unless total has two rides in the breakway which they haven’t done usually

But who else could be in that breakway that’s the real question e who else could be in that breakway I couldn’t win the stage I’m going through all the teams right now I’m trying to figure out have we seen any form on Zimmerman lately not really oh he’s okay in TD

Maybe [ __ ] it zon’s goingon to win the stage okay even though hard for him to win but y deine gr yakob uh aan all made and Kaden Groves all made the time cut uh without any problems Sam Bennett as well so all the sprinters lck they’re

Still in the race so maybe if they’re really if the sprinters teams do get together they can control this uh but I would like to see some teams trying to get in the breakway uh tomorrow particularly I don’t know to be honest if you and cost youa if if you’re

Trick and you see the others are helping you control the break w formation and the earlier part of the stage I consider going ham on the last three categorized climbs to drop whoever you can and see if he can lead Pon to a stage win yeah

For sure I mean you won’t drop Groves but yakobson and the other guys I mentioned declin they will drop on that sister on that sister might not though who K is relatively versatile K here M You Should Know listen you know I like GC GC guy uh you’re right on 1K 6% he

Shouldn’t drop it’s be you think so for Zimmerman yeah yeah I think so as well there’s too many teams that have sprinters that still want to have a crack at this and there’s not that dominant guy that like they’ll think they can beat Patterson and maybe they’re right too so you’re right it

Should be a Sprint but I’m going to go with you and CIO from the Breakaway R BNB Hotel do not do not put it all in for dear come come on prediction will cost you yeah they got to go on the break come on cost

You he is in good form that guy he he’s really strong um my picks for I think who did I pick for today for the stage yonis Aira I think he got dropped and lost 10 minutes so that was that went well um so I’m on fire all

Right adriatico uh this was 225 km I went on a long another long R yesterday get in the breakway get in the breakway and uh we had our corch and bani Breakaway Benji in this sort of tricky Sprint stage I always thought it the sprins could get through it it is 1K

Sort of 5% climb 1K from the Finish press 1K from the Finish but uh who did get in the break in the end you’re Slovakian friend no no no no no it was famous Swiss Rider Yan sterley from Team quch Vinnie fantini very respected man very respected country I apologize for

My words yesterday don’t take my cheese away anyway oh my voice just died zokar was in the breakway too I think he’s in bardiani I think but anyway that was a Twan Breakaway got CAU eventually and then I started tuning in into the broadcast at about 15K to go so I don’t

Know what else happened in this stage before 15K to go I just know that EF was spacing on the Kasa castala climb and at a certain point catapal was at the front of the group facing yeah they’re obviously trying to make it hard this is the finish that

Mvdp W and did is it the and did the uh arms cross celebration in 2021 ahead of hard uh no I think I think it was this finish but I thought that was like more of a consistent drag I think no Alf won the bagio won the day before which was

Harder and then mvdp won this one I remember I was on the goal Coast I can remember I I yeah anyway anyway betol I’m pretty sure was okay on that finish and B’s not got a bad Sprint uphill but this isn’t like a does have a little uphill kicker at the

End uh and they make it hard but it’s you see Benji as they come over the CR of that 7K 3% climb the pellon’s massive and it’s it’s not straight into the Finish either there is time for all the sprinters to move back up there’s enough

Time because unless EF can put the best rulers in the world and Pace full gas all the way to the base of the next climb there’s going to be a l and we see we see alberon move philipson right to the front front Quick Step move M right to

The front so if they’re there then bow house is there and everybody else is there so but then what did you see in the run into that like 1K kicker well first of all strong was good he was strong together with his team Simon Clark from Israel brought forward

Corbin strong Milan was in a good position and like the thing with Alon like you mentioned is that yes they they had three riders with about 4K to go but they just started running out of men so their strategy was just to put philipson in there to then figure it out

Himself once the climb started is how I how I perceived it because he was isolated when that started and that brings him into a a moment with 1.2 isk to go where he’s in P6 behind the the Clark strong Duo behind Jonathan Milan so he’s kind of going into this like

Squeezy last Colum cuz it’s kind of a snaky last kilometer right it’s not straightforward there’s small narrow bends everywhere so it’s going to be hard to move up and that leads to what’s going to happen in the last kilometer right but by the way at this point I hadn’t even perceived a

Bahrain Rider on my screen yeah they actually like kept a rer for the proper leader and they had like three Riders just about there they were if you look at the hats at 500 me to go after that little kicker you can see about four of their helmets in the

Front 10 12 Riders it’s like they really they had the right riders for this stage I don’t know where B was something happened to him Benji but this he was just about second favorite for this stage and um yeah he wasn’t in good position and there’s this leftand turn

300 me to go uh Pason maybe is goes underneath bouse bouse actually just comes right over the top because I think uh Alban let me get the AR it’s V what what the [ __ ] yeah my reaction too jumps um these stages are always interesting like you could it could be

Any Rider you know um f you cost you he’s in France uh he jumps and basically bouse undercuts the corner and slides in front of his lead out to get that lead out from the big vog uh and it’s perfect timing from him and at the same time

Phillipson who lost positions on the little kick up and he he went to Milan’s wheel and I think that was a mistake because Milan gets lost he he struggles with positioning and then philipsson tries to in that corner move up the inside and basically I think trying to see what happens

Exactly zangler moves in on him and philipson kind of just chops himself or crashes himself in the w I feel like it’s the kind of corner where the PE every single rider was kind of surprised at how much it it bended and at the front they start breaking

Like very close to the corner and philipson comes with more speed because he’s like I can do this without breaking my friend and then eventually he just ends up having to break very late because he was going to ride into everybody else and in doing so while being slightly hindered in the corner

But that’s not that just people are taking a corner so that happens he just gets gets swacked in the in the floor by yeah I I can’t even play by who like it’s just he just came up with a bit too much speed and as a consequence he crashed and race

Incident yeah I think so I think so so he goes down I think he might have been you never say never with philson but he might have even been too deep through that corner to win B comes out of the wheel in the corner and wins wins handl

Comes late finishes second vocal and third B was fourth so uh EF weren’t barking up the wrong tree completely like he was a chance a live chance for the stage Bender fifth Velasco sixth Caruso sixth what is going what is this is there Caro 7 sorry what the hell mofer

Eighth verak ninth uh aren’t 10th AO 11th and Pascal on 12th so two Bahrain lead out men 10th and 12th show shows you how well they were positioned and in in front with 500 me to go that they still finished so well uh in this stage uh

Anyos I think they uh I thought it was a chance for gner but I just couldn’t see him uh in the end I don’t have the full list of results yet so I don’t know if he got dropped on the climb but um yeah it was it wasn’t one for him uh

Today and I also think okay V third but I think Pig cocked away his Sprint look so far this year I also don’t think I don’t think one for poock too I think the latest stages are for him uh anything else I mean if it’s going to be

A mess if there’s a last we should have known Benji nah corner at 250 I said it on the wrong stage I know iel like this was too hard for baz B dropped over a bridge in Slovenia when I watched him a few years ago like he’s not the most versatile

Sprinter and for him to then show up and do this that’s really bloody impressive for them to be there with four Riders so so full props for Bahrain for pulling this off because I did not necessarily see it coming Milan seemed to have struggled with the clim

Before so I think that took away from his sprinting power at the Finish Line because otherwise I reckon it would have been closer yeah I think so and you know if you said to me oh who’s who’s a a slightly better Rider on the Hills before a Sprint merer or bouse I would

Have been like much of a muchness I would and Meier was he was gone he was not competitive in this Sprint so bous clearly a little bit better or not a little bit quite a bit better in that regard and he was he had four top 10 in

UAE uh he just missed that tanunda Sprint behind wellsford he he actually came with good speed in that in stage one of TDU but today gets it right and if he gets it right and the other favorites get it wrong he’s always there or thereabouts and um yeah congrats to

Him he and Bahrain with the double today so the good day for them they just when it’s Bahrain we never talk like every if you did a poll Benji who’s the better team Tre or Bahrain of the public and IM media Tre would always win that poll but

Then you look at the world T WIS at the end of the year and you’re like Bahrain Victorious Nom nominative determinism they win a lot of races so um even though they yeah so good on them uh GC unch oh someone fell out of GC don’t know who we’ve got some Remco news

Againu about you can go you can go you can go are you I st these GC at Tero uh 6 seconds ah of mil 14 ahead of voala to vingard there so we still got the serious stages to come tomorrow’s stage is another maybe we tune in a little bit

Late Benji 208 km long we got a 17 km 5% climb to 1500 M it’s rainy and cold it’s a long that’s a miserable stage you couldn’t pay me enough to be a bike rider um obviously I’ve got the talent but yeah imagine doing 28ks is in the w

A Toro transition stage [ __ ] that um you Reon breakway or Sprint again I reckon Sprint climbs way too early in the stage even though it’s 70 KS at 5% typical RCS but um nah it’s it’s it’s Sprint it’s Sprint it’s yeah yeah yeah yeah it’s cuz cuz if you’re if you’re alerson

Asper can get over that but goggles gone so One D be gone re speak was strong today but yeah who else they got who else can Sprint here Alban Vasco uh la la la zangler zang’s good should be fine on that I would love to see someone like

Gregoire in the break I think he’s too close in see isn’t he he such a good TT so you got to respect him uh I would love to see some Breakaway action like don’t think isin still in the race uh yes I think you oh with the schin to

Learn to go on the break don’t you think what’s got a higher probability schin helping pull all day TR or helping pull all day for Milan versus yasper or current form scin on this stage with that 2.7k 4% climb near the Finish A wise man once told me it’s all about

Probability you can do both uh well he might not cuz if track don’t help control s goes in the break they won’t be both uh but yeah okay it’s interesting uh I’m going to go with I’m going to stick with my gut and go with the Breakaway again I’m going to go with

Bastion tra from the Breakaway I like it I like it I’ll I’ll accept it th is a good Rider I will say that um bra gets dipped with 300 met to go th gets caught 300 me to go very specific prediction right here and the eventual winner from the Sprint in the pelaton

Is gavage is definitely dropping on that Cline so he still here yeah he is I’m going to say I actually I actually disagree I actually think DUS climb is better for Cavendish than the stage today probably probably but philipson wins anyway yeah unless he no

Merer wins this time around we got a one up One V one in we it needs to be equal now and then they they they fight again on what it what is it stage seven or is there another Sprint stage coming stage seven right is last or eight three qu

Kovski quato let him in the Breakaway come on he’s offered so much to the team Orana if those two get in the break see you so yeah uh okay that was Tano Benji said to some uh breaking news what is the breaking news Benji we’ve got some we should like implement the Remco

Segment right at the end of like the podcast of like has Remco said something about the stage or not that’s why we make them go for a while cuz like if we just wait half an hour after the stage you get a good quote to tack 10 minutes

On so I’d like Luke to send me while I’m talking about this the source of this but first of all I’m looking at HLN where even Poli saying the team was strong the legs felt good and I did a a I don’t know how to translate that

Actually i i k zakian is is the Dutch thing which means I made some some I got an advantage out of this stage is I think the didn’t he say this morning that the UCR was playing with their ass what yeah that was the literal translation translation with the head sock

Thing your language needs to be studied brother I have no clue what that that statement even means in flamish I can’t even translate it myself so he he had a cycling Pro interview where he also said some stuff about uat memores as in he said along lines of yo

Memor tactics were a bit strange I mean their choice to let those boys new leader pla on stage when aago ride if you still have four guys at the front of the rankings you can still make one person work right uh they did that for a while but jayvine stopped again a little

Later there was a shame for all the classification Riders uh because it means plat with TR to dangers mens can stay away my response to that is you shouldn’t be complaining about UAE because you your team literally helped them right away that sure a I like Remco we did

Like I’m glad we did the interview with him last year um but he couldn’t be further wrong on that quote like yeah that shows a pretty big lack of reflection on what actually happened in the stage like UA had the their GC guys were on the limit they nearly got dropped

Alaly they KN and they knew that you could see all the other climbs like they those guys were sliding sliding they were hanging on for dear life and why would like they’re not the favorite before this race I don’t care that someone’s wearing the yellow Jersey but

Now the Gap isn’t too big between Remco and them rco is the race favorite I thought before the race like and yeah you’re right like his team launched plat Beni and then when Santi jumped Van Wilder didn’t do anything so I got no problem with the way UA rode

Today they didn’t create the situation they didn’t make the race hard they were limited in numbers they used Vine and Vine when he pulled he did the whole descent and he kept the Gap the same and then they got to the valley four inos there you guys Pace yeah and they only

Have two r left for M because Fisher black dropped on the clim before so yeah and so was gone it was only Vine that could do it so yeah I I disagree with the take as well anyway that’s our but MCO said something segment yeah I

Mean they need to look at how they played today’s stage quickstep um same with bore and I think Vima um I think by way I’m going to correct your your vile insinuations about the Flemish language remol said that you say I was playing with his ball not with his

Ass much more normal than F fair enough it’s actually it’s actually a it’s actually say in Spanish as well they say in Spanish I know it’s a mainstream sentence yeah yeah yeah yeah um it’s like an um like you’re busting my balls you’re breaking my balls you know like

It’s yeah but in flam it sounds much better I like it in The Sopranos um I like it better there anyway that was uh remco’s interviews I mean we got to say like he then he blamed the clerk and then had to apologize I is this is so

Much wasted mental energy Benji like did the clerk thing like it’s avoidable like having to apologize for it like he it just seems that he gets uh and I’m not saying he shouldn’t have any personality that’s not what I’m saying and I agree with what frea said

About that but when the race first finishes he’s really like on heightened state of tension yeah um and uh and then he comes down afterwards but um it’s good for quotes I guess maybe like I fully agree with you as in he’s a rational smart person yes

That’s the thing yeah yeah so 15 minutes later he’s probably going to have a different opinion than the thing he said in the interview itself so but I’m the same I’m the same I’m completely crazy like if uh uh if you I was always I was

A bit like that so I understand it but um maybe they just should let him do flash interviews 10 minutes is that the solution but then I don’t want to rec I don’t want to recommend that either yeah and MCO Remco crosses the line Pho shows

Up with duct tape tap PH does a stopwatch he does a timer let’s go 15 minutes wait shut up it sounds stupid it’s actually it actually makes sense like in in what other sport in the would you yeah like put a mic in their face when they’re still at 180 High rate I

Sort of it isn’t it isn’t that bad an idea but you know anyway um like you said it it’s much more fun if they do have personality so yeah I like writers that say what they think and I don’t blame them for being wrong in that even though we we like

Correcting them if they’re wrong but I don’t blame them for for being wrong about that as long as they then like for example as long as Rema then goes toward WS to towards him CL can actually apologizes and that’s apparently what happened which that’s okay then it’s

Like okay we we can close that chapter I’m almost take a step back and I’m thinking this is every stage race this sort of thing happens it is like you don’t see vingard like vingard is like tranquilo you know you’re here to do a job execute a plan

Relax um nothing’s ever too big a deal but no offense but yonas does not have the the Rockstar personality as I see it or at least it doesn’t come out no like he obv in Danish interviews he kind of does hon y actually is like yeah but

No he’s not like a superstar like uh like pogy you know pogy really in in in the in the public eye in the camera is is much more um got a bit more Showmanship about him uh and that’s okay like they cyclist after the race except for tour of Flanders but like it’s

Something goes yeah I don’t know um just saying like stage races Energy Management they’re like just so much wasted energy on that sort of stuff um or maybe it doesn’t really matter that’s all from us uh today hope you enjoyed it we’ll back with another double header uh tomorrow

And uh stay tuned for that hope you enjoyed it see you then ciao

    1. UAE shoukd of sent 2 of the leading 3 up the road, making the other teams burn themselves out, whilst McNulty just sits b3hind drafting, until the last 1 km, UAE seem to be doing their best to lose, I don't understand thir thought process

    2. Not a perfect paris-nice for evenepoel so far. first the rain in the TTT, now 2 strong climbers allowed up the road. Still a chance to win it all, at least if the stages aren't cancelled…

    3. Remco was to obsessed with keeping Roglic behind him. Plap is a real contender. Buitrago will be a hard rider to distance. Remco should have gone after them.

    4. Don’t appreciate your almost rooting for Stage cancellations – esp. Benji. This will be a much diminished race if weather impacts determine the winner. Weather conditions contributed to UAE’s lead already. Let’s pray the weather cooperates and the race is truly competitive and not decided by luck & weather.

    5. Weird, interesting stage for PN. Happy for Plapp & Buitrago! I'm hoping Rogla is just playing it cool because I really want to see him fighting for the win. Jorgensen is looking really good.

    6. Pals i live in The province where ll be the next 2 stages of TA and
Valle castellana stage defo will be super tought and very very cold , today we had an hailstorn mixed with snow and 5 degrees

    7. Its so nice to see Eganito back as a contender he is such a champ . Then shoutout to Santi what a hell of a climber . He has that escarabajo style that reminded me of herrera , cacao rodriguez or chepe . Machine ! Plus he is trained by Fondriest

    8. About Remco straight after a race, it's likely an ADHD impulsivity thing. Indeed, they shouldn't let him do interviews at that point 🙃But sooner or later he'll learn to breathe deeply and wait a bit before he says anything. And yeah, Jonas in Danish is completely different from Jonas in English. He's got this deep, dark, subtle humour typical of the part of Jutland he's from. He did a piece for Danish TV just before NYE which showcased this side of him pretty well.

    9. Wow did it seem like Quckstep and Bora just punted this race. I don’t get why Vervaeke attacks and draws Plapp forward. That was the most boneheaded mistake I can imagine and then Remco just waits and waits. They didn’t deserve to win this stage or this tour.

    10. The paris-nice stage was disappointing. Maybe the weather took its toll on Roglic and a few others, but why would bora then pace the way they have done? On the bright side the gc race is now completley open and the favorites have to attack. Lets hope the other stages happen

    11. Surely this race shows that both Bora and Quickstep aren’t at the same level of the top teams to make Roglic and Remco true contenders for the Tour? Or maybe I’m being too harsh😂
